Four years since my last visit inside The Tudor House Museum in 2018.
While visiting my parents in Upton from Australia I called into the Museum on Saturday 09/04/22 for the Summer Grand Opening from 10:30am. [free admission for the first day] & all donations were appreciated.
Interesting to see more old items around the museum since my last visit, you could literally spend 3-4 hours in here especially if your a local Uptonian with so much local history & my personal favourites are always the old postcards which I've also been collecting over the last 40 yrs.
Take note the outside area of the museum is beautiful & a good variety of plants.
Like I have mentioned in my previous reviews I strongly encourage locals & outside visitors to support the museum & during my recent visit spoke to many museum volunteers & appreciate the good work they all do.
Purchased a few souvenirs before leaving, cash & c/card facilities available.

We were on a cruise which included a visit here. It was a lovely interesting museum. It reminds me of the old fashioned museums of my childhood. Lots of house hold things and day to day living that I grew up with. Didn’t know I was that old! Great for grandparents to take the kids and explain what the things are and used for.

Having been to Upton many hundreds of times since we only live 15 minutes away, we decided to come and have a mini-break. Never really knew that there was a museum but it harboured lots of images of Upton past. Including the railway station memorabilia the museum is a fascinating collection of nic-nacs including some beautiful pottery by the museum’s founder. Richard and Jo were on hand to answer questions and made every effort to keep our young son stimulated. And there was the mouse trail (every good museum has one of those). As we walked back to the camper our son asked if we could come again next year - so long as they move the mice.

This museum is just full of interesting and beautiful things. It seems random and cluttered at first but take time to wander around and you'll find little gems that tell a story. The volunteer staff were really friendly and helpful. They couldn't have been more welcoming.

The three floors of this museum are full of fascinating exhibits, there isn't a single inch wasted. Our dog was allowed in which was a huge bonus. Spent well over an hour looking around and could have easily spent another hour looking at everything again. Staff were super friendly and helpful, answering all our questions. Would highly recommend!

Allow at least three hours to visit, unfortunately i only put in 2 hours parking & ran out of time as i walked through the high street first. The museum is packed with vast amounts of memorable pieces it really is a wow, you wont be disappointed. Huge bonus our Deerhound was invited in. We were warmly welcomed inside and given an easy to read pamphlet.. So many stunning pieces. People have given up much time in preparing exhibits. We visit many museums on our travels but this one is the tops.

Popped in here this afternoon. Very welcoming husband and wife volunteers gave us an introduction and laminated sheets to tour the collection which is laid out over three floors.

We could have spent all day there remembering things our parents or grandparents owned.

The museum is crammed with artefacts - visit you will be charmed by what you see and read!

Popped in to The Tudor House Museum on the way to visit the Cathedral. Heather was acting as a volunteer guide and she was extremely helpful giving all sorts of interesting information about the Tudor House’s history. Well worth a visit

Quirky little place just off the high street, opposite the wonderful Star Hotel. You have to visit. Steeped in history and informative. Loved it.
