We were on a cruise which included a visit here. It was a lovely interesting museum. It reminds me of the old fashioned museums of my childhood. Lots of house hold things and day to day living that I grew up with. Didn’t know I was that old! Great for grandparents to take the kids and explain what the things are and used for.

Having been to Upton many hundreds of times since we only live 15 minutes away, we decided to come and have a mini-break. Never really knew that there was a museum but it harboured lots of images of Upton past. Including the railway station memorabilia the museum is a fascinating collection of nic-nacs including some beautiful pottery by the museum’s founder. Richard and Jo were on hand to answer questions and made every effort to keep our young son stimulated. And there was the mouse trail (every good museum has one of those). As we walked back to the camper our son asked if we could come again next year - so long as they move the mice.

This museum is just full of interesting and beautiful things. It seems random and cluttered at first but take time to wander around and you'll find little gems that tell a story. The volunteer staff were really friendly and helpful. They couldn't have been more welcoming.

The three floors of this museum are full of fascinating exhibits, there isn't a single inch wasted. Our dog was allowed in which was a huge bonus. Spent well over an hour looking around and could have easily spent another hour looking at everything again. Staff were super friendly and helpful, answering all our questions. Would highly recommend!

Allow at least three hours to visit, unfortunately i only put in 2 hours parking & ran out of time as i walked through the high street first. The museum is packed with vast amounts of memorable pieces it really is a wow, you wont be disappointed. Huge bonus our Deerhound was invited in. We were warmly welcomed inside and given an easy to read pamphlet.. So many stunning pieces. People have given up much time in preparing exhibits. We visit many museums on our travels but this one is the tops.
