    What a Wonderful Life!
    This is a lovely museum highlighting such a wonderful human being. It had areas of Jimmy Stewart's personal life and his acting career. A prior visit to this museum also hosted Grace Kelly's dresses. The museum is not large so you can view everything within 2-4 hours. There is a small gift shop with a nice selection of memorabilia.

    Worthy reminder of what's worthy & worth your time
    The Jimmy Stewart Museum is located in downtown Indiana, PA, right next to city hall. That's where he grew up and his family owned and operated a hardware store. Parking is free on Sundays. The first thing you should know is that for the price of admission, you get a seat in the theater for the daily 1pm movie screening rotation. If I was a local, I would definitely be a member. The second thing you should know is that the museum is wonderful. My 31 year old son loved it as much as I did. They have it sectioned off by his early life, military career, and his movie career. Their collection is marvelous. One of my favorite things was seeing his sister's art. She drew posters for the war effort, and she was a talented artist. Not only is this an enjoyable walk back in time, but it's also a reminder that things are not as complicated as they seem. This is a man who routinely did the right thing. The right thing to do is usually the more difficult choice, and we adults complicate situations because we often try to avoid that difficulty. There's a cartoon on the wall that encapsulates this thought. It says: "Dispirited by a world that seems overrun by greed, hatred, and immorality, a world that seems to have lost its human decency? Take two Jimmy Stewart videos. You'll feel better in the morning. " We definitely felt lifted as we descended the stairs to the exit! {Don't want to climb stairs? Don't worry, there's an elevator.}

    I love ❤️ Jimmy Stewart
    Sunday parking on the street is free however we were early and got a spot behind the museum. The museum is located inside the library. It took us 2 3/4 hours to drive from Canton, Ohio. Indiana, PA is like stepping back into Bedford Falls. As a huge Jimmy Stewart fan, this museum was on my bucket list. My admiration of Jimmy Stewart is even greater since visiting this little museum. He was a true honorable man, patriotic, a great father and husband. My mistake was not coming a week or two later when It’s a Wonderful Life is the theme. Apparently, the weekend before Thanksgiving there are parades and fun activities all over town. The museum itself has three sections and a gift shop. ( Divided into his childhood and family, his military career and his Hollywood career) Inside the gift shop is a walking tour map for $1.00. It’s well worth walking around town looking at the points of interest. The employees were very friendly, accommodating and informative. If you want to drive a couple miles out of town, the Jimmy Stewart airport has his plane displayed. We spent approximately 2 1/2 hours including watching a documentary about his life narrated by his daughter, the museum and walking around town. On a personal note, I wrote Jimmy Stewart years ago and he sent me an autographed photo, I decorate my home in the It’s a Wonderful Life theme at Christmas. So, I am a big fan. My favorite J.S. movie is The Philadelphia Story!

    Fascinating museum on movie star Jimmy Stewart's life
    This may be a small museum but it is packed with information on not just Jimmy Stewart's life but the role that his family played in the Indiana, PA community. His family had been prominent members of the community and fought in the wars and owned businesses since the Revolutionary War. His career spanned several decades and there is a retrospect of all of his films, which they show during the day in the small theater. They have a collection of all of his posters, costumes and awards. His Academy Awards are housed here as well. HIs military career in WWII is on display here as well as his family contributions in the Revolutionary, Civil, WWI, WWII and Korean wars. His family owned a hardware company that spanned three generations up until the 1960's and that story is told in the museum as well. It is a tribute to a man and his family that contributed so much not just to the community but the country as well.

    We Love You Jimmy!
    This was a very nice museum. The timeline from his childhood to the military then to the replica of his office was well thought out. The next few rooms were about his film career. The door from his home is located toward the end. Very helpful staff . The gift shop had tshirts and hats, along with Christmas ornament. A small theatre shows movies through out the day. There is also a walking tour map with various locations in town pertaining to Jimmy Stewart. Plan for at least 3 hours.

What a gem of a museum! We spent several hours here, mostly because we watched a great movie (one is shown every day), and read everything about this amazing actor and human being. The museum offers several galleries. One is about his early life in town, then his military career, and of course, his movie career. Many of his personal possessions, and possessions he enjoyed, like his booth at his favorite restaurant, and his office, are there. If you like Jimmy Stewart, you absolutely must visit this museum. Check their website for parking information. The public garage is easy to find and inexpensive.

This was a very nice museum commemorating the life of Jimmy Stewart, including his childhood, his military service, his movies and awards, etc. A small gift shop included movies, mugs, and tshirts. I got two tshirts. One has a JS quote, “Always remember, be nice to people.” A good motto to live by, Jimmy.

If you are a fan of Jimmy Stewart or some of the best movies ever made, this is a great place to visit. This museum does a great job of showing the history of Stewart's family, and the local surroundings. Great detail is paid to both his extensive movie career, as well as his service to this county in the Army Air Corps, and then the Air Force. While we were already Jimmy Stewart fans when we arrived, this museum only enhanced our love and admiration of him.

The museum staff was great as well offering more insight into Jimmy's life. We arrived on a Saturday when it opened, and rode the elevator with one of the staff members. She got off the elevator and gave us a personal impromptu overview of the museum. Great job keeping his memory alive.

This museum is very special if you have watched Jimmy Stewart movies. If you haven’t seen his movies, I feel it would still be interesting to someone who likes history or American pop culture. It is admirable to learn about Jimmy’s service during WWII. Being a movie star, he could have opted for a “safer” job in the service. Instead, he was a pilot leading others in missions. I think this fact, more than the fact that he was a movie star, makes him someone heroic and memorable.

I honestly didn’t know much about Mr. Stewart, but after visiting the museum I know more now. He was a great guy! This museum is very nice and has lots of neat stuff to see. I loved all the film awards and movie memorabilia. There is a nice gift shop too. I would definitely visit again. The admission price was very reasonable. Thanks for a great visit. :)
