Well worth a visit.

A beautiful town with historical buildings. Plenty of quirky shops. Plenty of cafes including one in the church. There are 2 Prospect Hospice charity shops one of which specialises in Vintage clothing. Very classy shop.
Parking is chargeable except for Blue badge which is free at all times. Plenty of buses.

Dreary little place that is resting on its past glories - suggest avoid.
Dec 2020
Overpriced parking in the high street - dreadful market selling tat -far too many charity shops - feels like a rather naff "seaside" town that's moved to the country - could be soooooo much better.

Shops & Eateries
May 2019
We drove down Marlborough High Street on our way back to London after a day tour. There are many shops and eateries along the street. Marlborough College was pointed out by our tour guide as a college that many famous people, including Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, have attended.

One of the best stop off points on the A4
Mar 2020
If you are travelling along the M4 and are not in too much of a hurry try a diversion onto the A4 between Hungerford and Chippenham instead. A much more picturesque route and you can then stop off in Marlborough High Street on the way. Find a free parking space, browse the many shops etc and pop into Waitrose for a snack. There are restaurants of course but that might take too much time.

Good range of shops
Jan 2020
Interesting high street with a good range of shops - some quite high end and pricey. Can get busy/crowded at times.

Nice but expensive.

We were passing through Marlborough on our way to Avebury stones it looked nice so we stopped.
We only saw the high street and the shops and tearooms. All nice but expensive, £6 for tea for two in the tearoom we used.
But there is a Greggs for a cheaper cake and sandwich.

I love Marlborough and the High Street is quaint yet functional with a great mix of quirky and useful shops, and lots of places to eat and drink.
