A gem of a museum with displays of a very high standard, especially interesting for anyone who has walked the Stonehenge landscape or seen Time Team and related programmes - this is a 'must see'. Very friendly and helpful staff, also Devizes is a lovely town to visit especially on Market day. Lots of good cafe's for lunch and recommend... More

From a general enquiry when visiting the museum, was introduced to Michael Cornwell to track down a newspaper clipping, turned out to be the historian of my grandfathers Wiltshire Regiment. What I thought I knew has been multiplied ten fold. his patience in explaining the few records I had and his locating of the gravesite, has made my trip from... More

Brilliant time had by our large family group in just over 2 hours. Interactive challenges and games enjoyed by all the kids (5, 2 and 18 months) plus the adults if we're honest. Good variety of rooms and displays. Very informative. Would recommend to all.

This is a fantastic collection! Its hard to find, but definitely worth the trip. If your planning on visiting stone henge, take the time to stop by. You wont regret it and you might find yourself spending more time here than you plan.

The museum has the most amazing collection of artifacts from the stone age to the Victorian era. In terms of breadth of objects, this museum far surpasses Stonehenge.

I go every year- partly because of the Archaeology galleries- the prehistoric gallery is still just amazing in trms of design, and content- but the newer Anglo saxon gallery is equally worth a trip! The shop has really good local material , and the 1WW exhib is one of the best I have seen, poignant and local.

Admittedly I'm no archaeology buff, but this museum is a must for anyone 'doing Stonehenge'. The collections are amazing (including 2/3 of the bronze age gold in the UK!) and the galleries are all presented in a really clear and informative way. Not only was the pre-historic history of the area described in a really thoughtful manner, the Somme exhibition... More
