Being local we keep going back. Masses on pre-history which we both love and it gets better from there.

We visit this museum time by time to see new exhibitions and we recommend it to our visitors - friends, family members. Kids enjoy the costumes! It's not huge and this is a vantage sometimes.

Salisbury & South Wiltshire Museum (4 Replies)
Is this museum worth it? We'll be taking our daughter through Salisbury for only a day or so and plan on seeing the Cathedral, nearby Stonehenge (my wife loves it, I hated it when we saw it a decade ago) and probably for a bite to eat at The Haunch of Venison (a tourist must). What would you suggest?

Blast. I didn't visit this museum when we were there in April. Military stuff isn't my 'thing'. It's in the same square as the National Trust property whose name I can never spell correctly - Monpasson-something. The museum didn't look that big from the outside. And just to say we (as in TA members) had our lunch at the New Inn (which is very, very old, actually). Out of curiosity, why is the Haunch of Venison a tourist must? What did I miss? ;-)
