went to Todmorden.. really interesting canal walk with lots of varied things to see. did it in the rain.. and got wet feet when the path under a bridge was covered with a few inches of water.. so maybe do in the dry!!

Delicious lunch for hungry family of 4 today; good choice of veggie and vegan food, something for everyone. Friendly service and a nice Covid safe environment. Very welcoming and helpful staff. Would recommend.

Pleasant walk
Jun 2021 • Solo
A walk along the canal in Hebden Bridge is the best canal walk I have come across.
The canal is home to almost a hundred very colourful boats, full of character and being used as people's homes. There was even a cat living on one boat. The variety of boats is incredible, although many are old and not 'seaworthy'.
In good weather I really enjoyed the walks along this canal and I'm never bored.

I didn’t get the chance to walk along much of the canal but It does look lovely , it was a shame some people don’t respect the area as some litter could be seen in the canal

A great way to chill.

The hebden bridge canal has always been a focus for leasure. Whether your headed out in the direction of Todmorden or Mytholmroyd its the perfect way of having a long chat with your partner or friend and taking in the calder valley scenery. For nearly 4 decades i have enjoyed its gentle calm and still waters for walking or cycling. As its become so popular now i would try and use the tow path during the week if you can as in season the weekends are full of fishermen trying to land the behemoth of the lives.

Pleasant stroll
Sep 2020
The bohemian town of Hebden Bridge in the Calder Valley is situated next to the Rochdale Canal. This gorgeous place is beautiful & has so much going for it, including that it's a very walkable place.
You've got to walk along the Canal at some point over your time here, and a good place to start is Calder Holmes Park, which is right next to the canal. You can stroll and enjoy peace just yards from the busy main street. Take care though, because you can only cross the canal in odd places, & you don't want to get stuck on the other side.
Recommended.
