This is a short ride up the hillside to reach the medieval town. Good price for a return tickets and the tram runs every few minutes. Plenty of room so it doesn't feel crowded, even when full. There was also a staff member at the...More

Nice short ride (4 min) up to Certaldo Alto, a beautiful small old hilltop town worth visiting even if it is touristy. Wonderful panoramic views all the way to San Giminiano. Cost : 1,50 round trip.

Nice view on the way up too. Very handy and a good price for return ticket. We parked in Certaldo to visit the Mercantia event in Certaldo Alto and they were very helpful with tickets. You can also drive to a car park near the...More

Easier to park in Lower Certaldo - right in the square by the entrance to the funicular, than drive up to the top car park (if you go up the wrong way you will find yourself in the 'restricted ZTS area and liable for a...More

Best way to visit the Certaldo castle on the hill. But watch out, its entrance is hidden in the facade of shops. And the price....: cheap.

Easy way to get up to the old city. It’s very cheap and the ticket office is where you get on, not far from the station. Plenty of parking nearby and well-signposted. The car runs every fifteen minutes or so and there is an electronic...More

Easy to find, not far from Certaldo railway station. Very good service with a manned ticket office. Lots of things to see at the top and plenty of places to eat.

We took the funicular from Certaldo Basso (about 300-400m from Certaldo railway station) up to Certaldo Alto where the medieval old town is. There is only a single car which can fit about 15-20 people (sitting and standing), and the regular run goes about every...More
