Having been to Avoriaz twice I wasn't expecting much from Pamporovo given that it is a small ski area with only ten runs most of which are marketed as beginner runs.

I was snowboarding and we got the holiday cheap at 450 for a five night stay, including lessons and ski hire.

The runs are suitable for beginners but even skiers with a bit more experience will appreciate the runs.

We met in with a very friendly instructor on the last day called Robo, and although we had not booked in, he showed us a few tips and tricks to match our ability and took us down to show us where we could leave our equipment at the resort.

Having been too many European countries I have to say the Bulgarians are up there with the most welcoming and friendly people I have met.

This would be an ideal place to learn or even as an extra trip alongside your main ski trip. Obviously it doesn't have the variety france has but it is also half the price.

I would definitely return here when my daughter is old enough to ski for her to learn here.

Everyone here has their hand in your pocket; money to pee, taxis from the ski slopes after 4!, steaks priced In restaurants by the 100g (30L per 100g! ), one lift to the top! 10% extra for paying by card! The list goes on….and on. Don’t come here cause it’s not cheap and yet it’s so cheap; hotels falling apart, cold food and rude, rude, rude people

i have been here a few times now and i absolutely love it. me and my dad feel like we don’t want to go to any other ski resort. my dad has been coming here for years now and we will be coming a lot more. when i am in my snowboarding lessons i feel safe with my instructor and i feel like i can relax and not worry about where i’m going on the slopes. i’ve been on quite a few slopes and even some of the black runs. and i must say although i was nervous i loved it, overall there are lots of lovely people around the resort and the food is great. i definitely recommend going to Alex's bar at the bottom of the mountain. and also recommend going to gloria mar in the village and it’s a 5 star rating for me. best restaurant ever, we stayed in oruvets and it’s amazing we have the best times ever and we will have many more!

The slopes were well groomed every day, ski instructors spoke excellent English. Ski instructor was very good with our group, catered for all our abilities which although similar we all had slightly different goals. Varied runs had artificial snow as the resort had not yet had much natural snow. Some runs were not open for lack of snow but the majority were open with all grades of run catered for. Ski/ board hire was well organised, those in our group who used it were happy with the equiptment, staff at the centre quickly remembered each day which number your gear was, no long queues in the morning to get your ski's and boots or at night to get your shoes/boots to leave. Hotels had their own transport to and from ski centre to resort were frequent, although busy at popular times. Some hotels have their own ski storage rooms at the ski centre so you dont have to take your ski's/ boards and boots back each night, they were left in heated rooms so nice and dry for next day. Food on the slopes was good and varied, reasonably priced. We had lots of sunshine during our visit despite the cold. Did buy a bell from the vendors at the resort. You will get approached continually until you buy a bell! The bells are OK and you can have them engraved with your name. The sellers will talk to you each day when you have bought the bells. This was my first ski holiday and I really enjoyed the ski centre, met up with people from UK, some of whom go frequently to this resort, I will go again.

If you have the fortune to be picked out by the bell sellers especially Michael on day one on the slopes. Accept you fate and buy a bell, this saves playing hide and seek around the ski bus every morning and afternoon. He’s actually a nice chap and will chat quite happily once you’ve bought a bell!

We visited as a beginner ski family. The ski slopes were excellent. Not too many queues at lifts. Lots of ski schools and hire places. Lots of restaurants for lunch on the slopes. We stayed in Students and unfortunately all the restaurants on piste close at 5.00pm so we were very limited as to where to eat of an evening. Everything is reasonably priced. Be aware that a lot of places only take cash so make sure you have enough. Cards aren’t accepted everywhere. All in all a great place for families and beginners but absolutely no apres ski.

The skiing is, I'm being polite, rubbish. A few little crowded pistes which haven't been groomed for days on end as I don't think there's any money there. The lift system is antiquated, slow and poorly looked afert by the lifties.
The "instructor" we booked couldn't have been less bothered if she tried. I only took lessons, after six years of not having them,to knock the rough edges off. I shouldn't have bothered as I and most of the people in my class, could ski as well as her.
As for the town, I am being truthful, there are only two bars in the whole place(The White Hart and Daks) I will admit they both are lively.
The White Hart is a bit British and Daks is full on Irish Republican, so, take your pick.
All in all dont go there it's the worst place I've ever been to ski

On 9th February 2024, I was on a skiing holiday, when a Male Ski Instructor in his mid to late 40’s from “Enjoy” Ski school Pamporovo, Bulgaria (as per his yellow ski jacket which stated Ski -Instructor on the back of jacket from “Enjoy” ski school, without warning pushed me through Ski -Lift Barriers which caused me to fall and could have caused a serious injury to myself and others - thankfully not. You would also recognise him with his Orange/Grey head woolly hat. This individual should immediately have his Ski Instruction qualifications removed. He is a danger to ski students and those visiting Pamporovo ski resort to ski!

I recommend you a new place. Lodge pub. It is up near Studenetz TV tower. Here you will find a good bulgarian cuisine, at a decent prices. If you enjoy to ski over a full day, you will be satisfied at this open pub. The sun, the food, a draught beer and a kindly staff, they will make you a better day. Try it! Bulgarian cuisine

I’ve stayed in Pamporovo Central Apartments at August 2022. Did not found this host in list of choices.
Lovely place in the very center of Pamporovo. Great location. Main room with fireplace and very comfortable sofa. Panoramic windows from the bedroom and the main room with entrance to the balcony. From all windows amazing panoramic view of the endless coniferous forest, Snezhanka and the Rhodopes. The kitchen is stocked with everything needed for a comfortable stay. Very quiet. Supermarket within walking distance.
Recommend this host and place.
