The beach at San Juan del Sur is beautiful and great for body surfing. Restaurants line the beach right at the edge of town.

The beach itself is very lackluster and there are tons of boats blocking the view of the horizon. There's absolutely no surf but it'd be okay for swimming. If you want to find a nice beach for surfing there are tons of nice ones less...More

All the travel guides say this is not a very nice Beach. But I still found it quite nice. Also with all the bars and restaurants right on the beach makes for interesting nightlife.

There are too many boats and overpriced restaurants in the harbor. Mostly the locals are here and they were not friendly. It was not a fun place to be.

Don't bother coming here unless you like being kept awake by idiotic crap techno music until 3am in the morning. This place SUCKS. Especially avoid hotels on the waterfront like Alcazar. And to the guy that runs the hotel - go to hell for not...More
