Based on a strong recommendation from a colleague, I attended Spanish Ya for one week of Spanish instruction. Prior to attending Spanish Ya in San Juan del Sur, I had minimal formal Spanish training and I had been in Nicaragua for only six days. My Spanish abilities were basically non-existent. After one week of classes and some practice, I was... More

I really enjoyed my classes. My teacher Yorleny was funny and engaging. I will miss her! The lessons were challenging but fun. I liked the location of the school and activities: horses, beach, and jungle. Fun! Fun! However, I have decided that homestay is not for me. The family was very nice, the meals were ok, and the room was... More

After visiting four other Spanish schools in San Juan del Sur, my wife, two young daughters, and I selected Spanish Ya for a one week course. We all have varying levels of Spanish and had individual professors. The professors were knowledgeable and committed, inspiring all of us to master the material. We finished the week with greatly enhanced Spanish. We'll... More

I started my Central America Trip at this school to get a basic knowledge in Spanish. Didn't know any Spanish before... Had one month of 4 hours classes (monday to friday). Improved my Spanish really fast. Nice teachers, good atmosphere, nice "schooling system" and the prices are really good as well. I stayed with a family and the homestay and... More

I wasn't sure what I was getting myself into when I signed up to learn Spanish at Spanish Ya, but I was certainly glad that I had chosen this school. The owner of the school and all of the teachers made it a truly memorable experience.

I know next to nothing about the Spanish language so Sylvia has her work cut out for her. The owner and all of the staff are really helpful and very patient.

I have attended three other Spanish Immersion schools in Merida Mexico, Antigua Guatemala and La Concepcion Nicaragua. My teacher Keyla was great. I speak Spanish at an intermediate level and I was quite happy with my week at this school. What really impressed me about this school was the amount of relevant work sheets they had available for the topics... More

I Have studied Spanish most of my life in different settings ranging from a summer in Spain at 19 years old to Spanish Ya at 67. In between those two experiences came college, numerous trips to Spanish speaking countries including two weeks total immersion in León, Nicaragua. I found the instruction at Spanish Ya to be just what I wanted.... More

Being located in tiny SJDS, I was very surprised at the excellent quality of the Spanish Ya school. My instructor, Zaira, was awesome; super smart and very patient (she needed a lot of patience with my broken spanish). She seemed genuinely interested in any subject we happened to be discussing which made me study harder in the evening so I... More

I was at Spanish Ya for 2 weeks and my spanish really improved. The teachers were very attentives and patients. The individual (one teacher for one student) approach allows to have your own learning progression. I would have stay for a longer time. It was also fun to have those 3 activities per week outside of the school with the... More
