Lovely, but busy
Jul 2021
You could spend a day. They kind of a central square that has water fights for younger kids to cool off in the heat.

When you take the trails, look at the sign posts and walk the one that has the longest route. It will also be the quietest!

We had a guide who helped wiht green codes, tickets and directions and it made life so much easier.

Wondrous forest hike
Jan 2021
We had a very enjoyable energizing hike through the valley of the beautiful tropical rainforest. Well maintained gardens with lots of biodiversity.

Animal cruelty
Dec 2019 • Friends
I would not recommend this place purely due to the animal cruelty. There were animals in cages and an Asiatic bear chained and muzzled so people could have photos taken with it. Had I been aware of this before I would not have spent my money to enter this place and in doing so contributing to this cruelty.

I walked ~37,000 steps in a day!

After about 1 hour drive from the city and you are transported to a beautiful garden. The west side of the garden is more polished while the east is more natural. I visited both sides on foot (yes, I did not pay for the buggy) and covered about 25km in about 4-5hours. Did not pay for a guide as I prefer to have a hike at my own pace. Would recommend visiting the east side if you have a full day in the garden (at least 5 hours) and is physically capable to hike for long distances. The foot path in the entire garden both east and west consist mainly of flat grounds (which makes the hike easy). I went in Dec and the weather was perfect. Would imagine it to be very very very hot in summer.

Wonderful botanical garden
Mar 2019
We made this a one day trip and it was absolutely worth it. The eastern side of the park can be accessed well by foot and there are some beautiful flowers to see. This part that is seperated into different themes already will take you around two hours. For the western part of the park, you have to buy shuttle tickets, but these are definetely worth it. You will be able to access stone forest and rain forest sections through the shuttle. Two very astonishing sections that were very calm at our visit and are kept very natural. In the stone forest that is acessed by a wooden sky way, we even spotted a snake. It was a great day trip, the Xishuangbanna garden is very much to recommend.

Actually if u just stay inside hotel ,be enough
But if u still want to go outside walk around
Here be recommend
Tickets not cheaper ,around 130 RMB (including a show ,skywalk and entrance fee )
The show so noisy ,typical Chinese style
We just stay only 15 mins then early leave
Skywalk ,not so protective and safety ,u can think before walk through or not

Fabulous amount of species
Mar 2018 • Couples
The largest botanical garden we have been in so far. It features a large number of themed areas, for instance a flower garden, bamboo collection, rare species area etc. all in all a great place to spend a day or two if you enjoy nature experiences.

If you do not feel like walking, they offer tours in electric cars.

Very beautiful & peaceful rainforest
Dec 2017 • Friends
This is a large, state-level 5A rainforest botanical garden. It houses many types of flowers, trees, gardens, bridges, walking paths, bodies of water, waterfalls, and species of wildlife. It is a great place for peaceful walks, picnics, and more.

There is lots of signage, and as I went through the park, with my mobile phone, I took a photo of the reserve’s map/layout. The map was very helpful in ensuring I went in my intended directions.

We toured it on a weekday. It wasn’t busy, no line-ups, and very relaxing. Try to avoid visiting on public holidays. Places like this tend to be packed with people.

The landscape design is beatiful, ther are many different plants colections, trees and flowers, palms, acuatic, medicine and aromatic plant
There is a museum inside very interesting
We enojeyed it a lot, stayed for about 4 hours and would stayed longer but it was too hot.
