We liked it here. There are very nice people running the place and they will tell you a story about the history of the base. Easy parking and it doesn’t cost much. So why not

Very informative. Nice little museum for a day out. If it is a slow day they will take the time to show you around and give you detailed info and tour you around.

Another lifetime ago I spent a lot of time my last two years in the Navy at Willow Grove NAS. Like so many stations that were hives of activity back then, Willow Grove is now closed as well. But they still have a small piece of history that aviation enthusiasts would find very interesting. The Wings of Freedom Aviation Museum. Filled with great information about all aviation and not just Naval, it is a hidden gem that should not be missed if in the area.

We visited this place on a rainy/snowy day (didn’t check up the weather last minute, my bad). The museum is small yet packed with a lot of info. There are couple of small planes located inside the building while most of the larger ones are located outdoors. We were welcomed in by a very friendly staff at the front desk and a young boy Justin was our official guide. He was informative and my kids enjoyed the stimulation plane activity with him. He was very patient and friendly to the kids, answered all their questions as honestly as possible. We quickly came back indoors (snowing outsides) and didn’t stay out to enjoy the outdoor planes on display leaving it hopefully for a beautiful sunny day. I would recommend if you’re local and looking to spend a couple of hours to learn about Pitcairn family and the airplanes.

It's a great place to spend an afternoon. The museum offers a truly unique source of American and local history. The volunteers I met (Shirley and Moose) were passionate, knowledgeable, and couldn't have been nicer. Overall a fantastic experience
