Went to an ice-skating event. This place was terrible. When I tried to get in, they told me that absolutely no backpack was allowed. I had to take my backpack back to my car and take out my medicine and my blanket (which was used...More
We’ve been to the GC before and think it is a nice venue for such a small town. Prices are typical for a minor league sports venue. We had what I think were great seats for under $20 a piece and the fans were very...More
I've been to Giant Center for ice hockey game previously and stadium seats were okay to watch an ice hockey game but not so great for a concert. Stage was at one end of rink. Floor seating was in folding chairs. We had seats in...More
Our first time attending an event at the Giant Center. Great view from seats, nice and clean. Parking was only $10 which is better than most event centers. High food and beverage costs and the price of souvenirs were outrageous.
Went to concert here last weekend, LOVED the concert, and the venue is Medium size, NOT TOO LARGE, so it's 1 door in and 1 door out, plenty of parking, parking was only $10.00, which is a bargain for what we usually pay to park....More
I may have paid for a cheaper seat high up but does that mean people should have to sit in a smaller seat? There was only one women’s bathroom open during the concert. I have been to many different arenas in different states to see...More

Can you walk along Chocolate World Way? I am think of parking at the lot in town and walking to Giant Center. I see the new Park Ave but Choc World Way looks a tad shorter. Can you do that? It seems like there is a sidewalk for part of it. Thanks.

There is a sidewalk on Park Blvd & Chocolate World Way; however, they do not go the entire way to Giant Center. You will want to use caution after the sidewalk ends. If you stay off the roadway on the grass area, you should be fine.
Tailgate outside the Giant Center (5 Replies)
I'm going to a concert in August this summer and this may sound like a dumb question but can you get there early and tailgate like a football game. I haven't gone to a concert in years why I ask. Can I bring a small grill, cooler of beers and hang out before the concert starts at 7 pm. Will they have port potty's for use?

Well that dampens the fun. Thanks FlyEagle.
Hotels: Walking distance to Giant Center/Hersheypark (4 Replies)
I've read some older posts on here which all seem to state there is no hotel within walking distance of Giant Center. Looking at a map, it seems like staying at one of the places "behind" the whole Giant Center/Hersheypark area on Chocolate Avenue is a very short walk by coming right up Ridge Road, and onto Park Boulevard. For example, the Fairfield Inn and Suites states it is only 0.8 miles from Giant Center...which to me seems like a quick 15-20 minute walk. For context, I'd be doing this...More

If you really want to do this, the only hotel I'd recommend is the Days Inn on Chocolate Ave., as it is the closest to Ridge Rd. From the Fairfield, I get 1.2 miles (walking distance) and I don't believe all areas have sidewalks. Overall, it is just not a convenient walk, and most people decide it is not worth it, especially after a long day on your feet at the park or with young children. You will be walking past a long line of cars on Park Ave. after the game. You will want to use caution...More
