This family friendly park really surprised me. We got to see a professional soccer game, walk on a nature trail, and play volleyball but there was so much more to see and do that we did not have time to incorporate it all. We are definitely looking forward to going back again!

It's not a busy place when events aren't going on, but it's a nice area to relax with a water view. There are playgrounds and areas to eat, bike, and walk along the water.

This park area is run down for the most part--a deteriorating mini-golf course, a small weathered arcade with about 10 games (and no air conditioning), and an outside ice cream stand. It was a sad sight overall. The only highlight is the riverboat cruise which, unfortunately, we missed because it only has maybe 3 departure times. Maybe this would appeal... More

This is a nice clean and quiet park that has a whole lot of different things to do. Things include taking a scenic walk to a boat ride on the river to taking in a ball game.

Every season has a different view and beauty around the island and the walking-bridge. We are frequent visitors to this place.

The place is okay. Nice to hang out with kids and watch some sports. Great in the summer. Nothing too excited, though.

I walked over the bridge from Harrisburg mid June, on a nice sunny day. I walked all the way around the Island, past the food area, the mini-golf course and then back over the bridge to Harrisburg. I recommend City Island for a pleasant scenic walk. Possibly the golf would be fun and likely there is some good food.

Went to ride the train. it was closed. the carousel was closed. The park stayed open for another 3 hours. very disappointing. Could be nice if managed more properly.

This is a great place to visit if you have time to walk around near Harrisburg. Enjoy the batting cages and the boat around the river! Clean bathrooms too!

We have recently been to a Senators ball game one night and a private party on the Pride of the Susquehanna another night. The Island and parking lot were surprisingly clean and the landscaping was nice. There is also a train ride, beach, mini golf, as well as, paved road around the park for a beautiful walk or bike ride.... More
