Pretty much everything is worn out and outdated. Parking and traffic flow are ridiculously sad. There is a lack of adequate handicapped parking and van accessible spots. Beach club had one handicap spot which had an illegal parker while open spots were blocked off with cones - ADA concerns here. Ballpark handicapped parking is overflowing on game days, a maze to escape, and a difficult walk to get into the stadium.

Beautiful mini-golf course at the end of the island. Reasonably priced. We had to park by the bridge at the opposite end of the island because there was a Senators ball game in progress, but the walk was nice. There was even a couple of swings around the 11th hole where you could take a break and enjoy the view. It looked like they were still sprucing up the place as the water features were not clean or full but there was fresh mulch around the plants and the grass was well maintained. All in all, a beautiful course. I'd love to see it again later in the summer.

We got there early for our noon Pride of Susquehanna sail, so we spent some time walking around this island. It was such a hot and humid day, that we were grateful for the huge trees sheltering the ground. We saw the Senators’ stadium, the batting cages, the places to purchase food, and quite a few people biking and jogging. It was cooler walking on the grass, so that’s what we did. I was a bit nervous about stepping into something, but throughout our walk, I did not see any dog droppings.

The area could use some serious maintenance, and fresh coats of paint for the buildings to spruce it up, but it was still enjoyable walking in the shade, and looking at the Harrisburg skyline.

This review is for the water golf since there doesn't seem to be a section to review it by itself (not surprising that the business wouldn't want people to review it). We arrived with 5 in our group and were not asked to separate. We waited until the group of 2 in front of us finished the first hole then proceeded to play. After a few holes, the male from the entrance booth said there were 2-3 vacant holes ahead of us and to play faster. Even a group of 4 people should play slower than a group of 2 and there should be space between. When we got to the next hole, I noticed there was only one empty hole not 2 or 3 between our group and the previous group and then when we got to the swings we had to wait because the group in front of us was swinging because they had to wait for the group in front of them. Once we finished I told the man at the entrance that he lost a customer because there was no reason for us to rush through and treat his customers so poorly. His response was that he didn't care, he got his money and that I should be thankful because I used a coupon.

City Island is in the middle of the Susquehanna River in Harrisburg. It has a number of different activities, especially in the summer. There is a minor league baseball field, miniature golf, small train rides, swimming and boating. You can park a car on the island or you can walk to the island along an old pedestrian bridge leading from Front St. The views of Harrisburg from the island are impressive.

In town on a business trip and found City Island on our drive back to the hotel from dinner. Very glad we stopped to check it out. The island is fairly unique, with some nice trails to walk, or bike, and has a walking bridge to the downtown area. We caught a few innings of a baseball game at the local AA ball club stadium on the island.

City Island is a great place for a walk with the family and/or the family dog. The island is home to both the Harirsburg Senators baseball team and City Islanders soccer team. There is a paved road for driving and walking that loops around the standiums. There is also a walking path that takes you along the river. The Pride of The Susquehanna river boat also leaves from City Island. Also on the island are a mini-golf course, batting cages and a small arcade. My husband and I often go to dinner in Harrisburg and then take a walk across the bridge that connects the city to the island. It is nice to be able to play some mini-golf or just go for a quiet walk together. I would definitely recommend visiting City Island if you are looking for something to do near the City of Harrisburg.

As a side note, if you are going to City Island not to attend a baseball or soccer game, I would try to avoice nights when these games are going on. You will have to pay for parking if there is a game and it is extremely crowded.

It always fun to come to City Island, even though there is not as much here as what used to be. But the grandkids loved the train ride and of course the ice cream!

My family has been to City Island a few times and enjoyed exploring, but today was my first visit for the Harrisburg Senators game, and it was great. I am always surprise at how accessible the Capitol is, and the game was well organized and set up well for family visits. The kids had a blast, and the stadium was great. The whole “city island” had a family friendly feel to it.

Visited this park while waiting for our trip on The Pride of Susquehanna. It’s a cute park with many little things to do with children. Plus their major baseball team plays here. While we were there their held a day for the vets. Took them on the Pride then had a luncheon for them with karaoke and raffle prizes. They all seemed to have a great time. Loved that they did this.
