We camped at Promised Land last week. It is a wonderful place to go. The camp sights are clean and neat. The park facilities are great and have recently been rebuilt. I strongly recommend it as one of the best state park camping locations in the East.

We hiked , ran and swam there. Even on a Saturday in August it wasn't crowded. I will be back to explore many more trails. Next time I am going to bring my fishing rod.

We (four families) arrived (to The Pines Campground site) a little after 5pm for our check in, which went quickly and smoothly. We had sites 13-18. They were decent sites. Although only site 13's fire pit was the only one that was actually usable as is...the others (as well as the majority in the campground) had grill surfaces that were... More

We like coming here for a few reasons. One it is only an hour and a half from home in NY, and two it has modern bathrooms even though you are camping. The bathrooms are all tiled with hot and cold running water with new one piece sinks. Super clean. The showers are free so you can take as long... More

We enjoy outdoor activities, biking and hiking being two of our favorites, and this park did not disappoint. The bike ride around the upper lake is rolling hills, which should be enjoyable for most riders, with lots of scenic stops along the way to take in the views and explore. The lower lake ride is hillier, and has a challenging... More

It's such a wonderful surprise to book a camping spot in February for the next summer, based on reviews, and have it EXCEED your expectations! We loved Promised Land SP and will definitely recommend to other NH friends. We stayed at Pickerel Point campground, site 125, with full hookups and it was perfect. Sites were well spaced, bathrooms were among... More

This is closed to lake Walla(something) but over there there are no dog friendly beaches. This place was great. There's a children friendly swimming area, and nearby there is a dog friendly area with very shallow water. Great for small dogs. There were TONS of people cooking out all over. Many grilling pits found throughout. There's a boat rental place.... More

While staying elsewhere, we drove through to vet future vacation spots. The cabins were very enticing, while the camping areas seemed to cramped. We took a hike in along the creek...forgot the bug spray so it wasn't a long one. Overall, if I were to return it would be for the cabins and all the things to do in the... More

Camped for the weekend and did a little kayaking. The lake is beautiful and the swimming beach is well maintained. The bathrooms are spotless. Had a great time.

Rented a canoe for 24 hours while staying out at the peninsula of Pickerel Campground. Great proximity to our campsite and we could pull the boat right up next to the tent. Beautiful water, lots of seaweed in parts but the dog had fun trying to reach it (and a good core workout for the humans to keep balance as... More
