We enjoy outdoor activities, biking and hiking being two of our favorites, and this park did not disappoint. The bike ride around the upper lake is rolling hills, which should be enjoyable for most riders, with lots of scenic stops along the way to take in the views and explore. The lower lake ride is hillier, and has a challenging... More

It's such a wonderful surprise to book a camping spot in February for the next summer, based on reviews, and have it EXCEED your expectations! We loved Promised Land SP and will definitely recommend to other NH friends. We stayed at Pickerel Point campground, site 125, with full hookups and it was perfect. Sites were well spaced, bathrooms were among... More

While staying elsewhere, we drove through to vet future vacation spots. The cabins were very enticing, while the camping areas seemed to cramped. We took a hike in along the creek...forgot the bug spray so it wasn't a long one. Overall, if I were to return it would be for the cabins and all the things to do in the... More

Camped for the weekend and did a little kayaking. The lake is beautiful and the swimming beach is well maintained. The bathrooms are spotless. Had a great time.

Rented a canoe for 24 hours while staying out at the peninsula of Pickerel Campground. Great proximity to our campsite and we could pull the boat right up next to the tent. Beautiful water, lots of seaweed in parts but the dog had fun trying to reach it (and a good core workout for the humans to keep balance as... More

We are rv camping on pickerel point. Great sites that have full hook up. There are also really great tent sites by the water and is all reasonably priced. There is a very clean swimming area and great hiking trails and bike trails. The camp sites are spacious so I don't understand why so many people are saying the sites... More

We camped for two nights in an RV in the Pickerel campground. On the second night while my wife and I were watching TV inside our unit, a Ranger started very loudly pounding on our door. When I nicely inquired what's the problem, he started shouting that the our TV was very loud and he heard the "f" word from... More

Nice size lake area. Lots of easy access points as well. The fishing is ok as well. I already had a PA state park launch permit from another park, so I didn't need to get one here.

This is a large State Park with a lot to offer. The camping areas are spread out, and from what we saw consistently well maintained, and monitored. We stayed on the peninsula and it is a great spot. There is water front and back, not great views, but nice enough. The gravel sites are mostly level with good hook ups... More

Who can resist a park with this name? We needed a campsite for one night close to I 84 on our way south. Spoke to park staff directly before using the online reservation system and they were helpful in suggesting which campground and which site. They also told us to request the senior rate. We almost didn't make it to... More
