I really want to give Caledonia State Park a 2.5. When we arrived 2 things stuck us. First, the site; it was completely not level (site 3) making it tough to get a camper level and really very close to our neighbors. The pictures on Reserve America did not resemble what the site really looked like. Second, the bathrooms and... More

We had a reserved pavillion for a family reunion. It was near ample parking and near restroom facilities and water fountains. The tables and grills were a bit dilapidated but still usable. Restrooms were clean. There were a lot of other attractions that we didn't use, but looked really nice (pool, trails, playground). Bonus points for the park staff who... More

This state park is easy to find off route 30 and 233 in Fayetteville PA. Anout 15 miles from Gettysburg. Easy day trip. Visitor's center and discovery center helpful to the public. Map of historic Thaddeus Stevens trail that has remains of blacksmith shop, iron ore furnace and wood stacks for making iron ore. All trails are well marked and... More

Just spent Friday & Saturday Night at Caledonia State Park in our Motorhome with part of the Family. Quiet, back to nature, kind of park. Cost per night was $33.50 with electric only. Had fresh water nearby if needed and a dump station. Due to remote location, only TV reception was 3 channels and had no T-Mobile Cell Service or... More

I have been here a few times for picnics. The main reason is that there are picnic tables right off the parking lot and right in front of the handicapped parking. This is very nice to take those with disabilities. The area I shaded with a small stream that you see. The park also has a pool.

We spent a wonderful weekend at this well kept campground. Campsites while not remote are far enough apart to feel like you are not on top of each other. Showers were the older State Park style but water was hot. We hiked the AT to the Horsack Trail loop. Great 7 mile hike. Enjoyed the Civil War history there at... More

A wonderful park to have a nice picnic with family. There are a limited number of pavilions available to rent. There are also a lot of picnic tables "in the open", some under trees, some in the open sun. There is a nice but small swimming pool area. There is a fee for the pool. There's plenty of parking and... More

Great place for families to,picnics but get there early to hold your tables near the creek. Wouldn't recommend the pool. It kept closing due to poor water quality. When we were there in July 2016

I had never been to Caledonia before...Boy was I missing out! My husband, son, and I tent-camped there over the 4th of July weekend and we LOVED it. I was a little nervous about the size of the tent sites as we have a rather large tent, but we were able to set up quickly and easily and had plenty... More

Caledonia State Park is located off of U.S. Route 30 in Fayetteville, heading towards Adams County and Gettysburg. Caledonia State Park has always been one of my favorite places to go during the summer. It is a great place to camp at because Caledonia lies in the Michaux State Forest area. There are both electric spots as well as non-electric... More
