We thought thsi qould be a great place to bring our kids (6&2) to get some energy out and have fun.
They did have fun with what they got to do. One floor was closed of 3. Problem is it was like a kid free for all. Everything was such a mess!! Some Things were broken and dirty and toys were strewn all over between activities in the wrong palces. So when you went to play something things were missing. I didnt see any workers besides the lady who you pay when you come in which is probably why it was so wild and messy. We couldnt wait to get the heck out of there.

We had a VERY excited toddler to visit this museum yesterday, Nov 14. In fact, this museum is the reason we chose to visit Erie over Pittsburgh.
Anyway, online states hours 10-4. Checked the website before heading over and there were no announcements.
Arrived around 11/1130 only to find all the lights off and the museum closed.
Very, very disappointed.
Do yourself a favour and call ahead to avoid disappointment for your child.

There is a lot to do here and most of it is open-ended, offering many great returns on investment. The outdoor area has hands on for creating music, a reading area, sand/dirt creative spot, a charming view of the surrounding buildings and plenty of trees and seating for parents. Inside you will find a lot of open-ended activities. The flowing water with boats and maze design alone could be an all-day activity. There is a cave exploration area with a slide, and giant foam construction pieces on the first level as well. The second floor has many sponsored exhibits from local businesses and offer some hands on retail, financial, and engineering fun for the kiddos. The basement is for the little ones to color and craft and play, and has huge comfy chairs for the parents. Definitely worth the price of admission and membership.

We had a wonderful 3 hour visit. Lots of things to do for my grandchildren ages 5,3 and 10 months. However, my family was verbally attacked, by another visitor. for doing something she didn't think was right. We immediately said we would take care of it, but she continued to harass us yelling at us, and wouldn't stop. She also called one of the 3 adults, fat and lazy. It made it very uncomfortable for not only our family, but other visitors on the same floor. Had there been a worker on the floor at all times, this could have been diffused instantly.

My grandson & I went to this museum. He is 6 yrs old and love it. He ran from one display or activity to the next. They had tons of things of ages 1 yr to 12....They often have special events around the holidays. The only thing I think should be improved on is the cleanliness of the activities. I realize you can't have kids running everywhere and not get germs on the items. but I think you could give the kids wipes to use after they are done.

Experience Childrens Museum in Erie is a great place to spend a few hours with your little one/s. They have multiple levels of activities which range from toddler to pre-teen. There are additional fun environmental facts to take in as well. If I lived there, I would definitely have a membership for our family.

We took our 4 grandchildren here for a few hours. They had so much fun on each floor. There were things for a 1 year old to older. They spent the most time in the Wegmans grocery store and the toddler play area on the 3rd floor. The price was right and they had reasonably priced gifts in their sore. Thanks for a fun afternoon.

So my review may be a little skewed. We have visited many children’s museums. So comparing to glazier in Tampa and some in Chicago as well as please touch in philly this one is much smaller. The website did make it appear bigger than what it really is. That being said if I was not comparing to the larger children’s museums I would prob thrive it a 5. We went on a Sunday and it was not crowded. They are only open 1-5 on sundays but the kids still had time to experience everything. We did stay there for 4 hours so there was enough to keep them entertained for that long. It was a hot day and so all the items in the outside garden were very hot. Needless to say we did not stay out there that long. Since we went on a weekend we were able to park at the parking lot in front of the museum that belongs to Erie insurance. There is not a cafe or anything to purchase food but there are vending machines and a snack area where you can bring food in and eat.

We took our 4 year here and she enjoyed many of the exhibits here (water table, slide, stage, the grocery store, etc) and it is a great little spot for the little ones. I think under 8 would be best as older kids would probably be bored quickly. The outdoor space was reserved for a party the day we went, so can't comment on quality of the outdoor learning options here. Good for a couple of hours of fun for the kids.

Tidy museum that is great for the younger crowd. I took my 4+ grandson to visit and he really enjoyed the smaller atmosphere. Nice outdoor space. I was disappointed with the GE Transportation train exhibit as there is nothing interactive about it. It's big, bright and shiny with "do not climb" signs posted on it; really? Note to self: posted hours are that they close at 4 however, the reality is that they outside play space was blocked off at 3:40 and they start cleaning up which gives me the feeling that the party is over well before 4pm.

Our granddaughter was 8 at the time. She absolutely loved it. She wants to go back this year and take her younger sister who is 4. We are going to do that in August.
