Love it

Erie zoo is a great place for smaller children. Not so big where the kids get real tired. They gave a train kids love to ride.

My young children loved this place. It is the perfect size for small children as it is not to big. Would not recommend going at noon time, most of the animals were sleeping.

Located in the heart of the city, this zoo is one of the jewels of Erie, PA. The new big cat venues are really something. I personally love the giraffe and walking with the wallabys right in there enclosure. The train, which every child in Erie has ridden at one time or another, make a real trek alongside of the... Well managed and well maintained. The variety is not great but everything else is. I could not get over how well organized they were.

The layout of this place is really odd and confusing, it's hard to find exits when you are ready to leave and the employees are not much help. They have a few rides like a carousel and unfortunately when I was there the token machine (cause you can't just pay with cash..) was not working and the elderly person working... More

The Zoo was super small. We have traveled the states and The Henry Vilas Zoo in Madison, WI is far superior to this zoo. There were a few cool animals. We really like seeing the baby monkey born in June! Bathrooms were super clean. I would say the habitats were not natural at all and super tiny.

My boyfriend and I had the pleasure of visiting the Erie Zoo on August 31, 2016. We picked a day when a downpour of rain descended on the city but got there when there was a lull in the weather. Great exhibits, fun walk throughs. Workers are friendly. Unexpected bonus: free admission due to bad weather. ONLY con: gift shops... More
