The Tower officially closes at 7p.m. but that day it closed early due to problems with the elevator. I checked the website before getting there but the closure was not posted. So we walked around.

Parking is free starting at 6p.m. It was a Wednesday and we found one open spot. You can see Presque isle from there and enjoy the view. Plenty of fishermen around.

Inside the gift shop you will find bathrooms, snacks, maps, ATM machine and pay phone.

Visited the last Friday of August when the tall ships were in the harbor. It cost $6 to take the elevator up, but I was able to take in the scenery as long as I wished. The views of the city and waterfront were stunning and very photogenic. There were signs at the top describing some of the nearby history of the waterfront area, etc. Bring your camera and binoculars if you have them. With taking photos and admiring the views, I was there about 45 minutes including a few minutes at the gift shop at the bottom.

The tower has an elevator to the top so great for people with wheelchairs and strollers. The view was really nice and we even got to see the scallywags pirate adventure from above. We were lucky and got to go on a free day. I wouldnt see why it would be worth 6.00 to ride up and walk in a circle and come back down.

Just drove up to Erie from Pittsburgh to check-out a few places before winter comes. I've only been here once before and there was a couple more things I wanted to see. This place was one of them, and it was my first stop. It was a little cold especially being as windy as it was, and I took a walk around the tower. Quite slow for a Saturday which is a great thing; didn't get near anyone which you know makes me happy. The gulls were kind of going crazy so I took a bunch of pictures of them, the tower, and some views of the bay. There's a few interesting historical information panels to read. Wore a scarf and hat my sister Ellen made for me and took a selfie in them to send her. I hope I get to see her again sometime soon. Really no other really good reason to go where she is.

This is a nice place to walk around, there’s a lot of restaurants in the area as well to enjoy! There’s a nice view of Lake Erie and picnic tables for those who want to eat. There’s a little cafe inside with some Erie apparel as well. Definitely worth the stop, it can be busy sometimes, especially on the weekends!

I took my young children here for something to do as we had just moved to the area. It was fun and we enjoyed taking the elevator but I’m glad we happened to go on a day when it was free to get to the top. The first Tuesday of each month I think. But if I’d had to pay to go up it would’ve been disappointing. Not worth the $ to ride up for the view. The gift shop was barely a gift shop. Very disappointing. Not really anything to buy.

There wasn’t an option to take the stairs when we were there. It was $6/adult & $2/kid to go up in the elevator. The guy upstairs that was a veteran was very nice, talkative& informative. We read all the maps up there of the sunken ships in each Great Lake & enjoyed the views. I don’t think it’s quite worth as much as they are charging but still a nice view.

We spent time at Waldameer amusement park. Important to know they aren't open on Wednesday s. Also visited Maritime museum on the bay. Went to beach 11 on Wednesday. Sand so hot you need flip flops to walk on it. They have music and food trucks 5 o clock.
Visited Tom ridge environment center before coming home.

Loved the many placards telling the history of the Erie Bay area.

Liked that the placards tell you what you're seeing in different directions.

Elevator only; can't walk up the steps.

I highly recommend for history buffs; not necessarily for the view.

Tower is a great way to get a good view of Erie, Presque Isle, and the lake. Elevator or stairs to take you up. Cost is only $6 to go up. Look at your own leisure. Short trip, but worth it. That whole waterfront area is a nice area to talk around. Don't pay for street parking, there is free parking right by the tower.
