Have patronized State Theater multiple times (including 3x in last 6 months: Piano Guys, Art Garfunkel, Ron White) when I secured tickets in lower level, seating was tight but offered an overall nice experience. When we saw Ron White, we could only get seating in rear balcony and it was a terrible experience. I am only 5' 11" and had to sit side-saddle all night with my knees touching the head of a woman in front of me; for which I apologized but the real apopogy should come from the venue. My legs cramped half the night and feet were swollen (never happened before) hours later... the gift that keeps on giving. Also, the sound was set too low... an observation shared by many sitting near me. Anyone sitting in real balcony who is over 5' tall is sure to have a most unpleasant experience after 30 minutes and risk phlebitis after 60 minutes. I would much prefer that this venue remove at least 2 balcony rows and charge an extra $10 to cover lost revenue; better than the misery we endured.

Jersey Boys last nite. We’ve seen it on Broadway, years ago, and the music of the Four Seasons is great! Not so much this venue. While the theater itself is beautifully restored, the loge seating for way too much money left us very disappointed. As stated by others, DONOT SIT IN THE LOGE/balcony if you are over 5’ tall! Tiny seats with No leg room for this 5’10” lady! We left at intermission. Felt like a death trap…minimal AC, no leg room, few emergency exits. And did I mention seats for tiny peoples.

They have turned it into an undisciplined shell of itself. You can no longer go to state theater if you expect a respectful crowd that is not talking loudly through the entire event event or or you expect not to hear crying babies at an adult event or or if you don't want to see people with cell phones out in the dark during the entire show. Management has effectively admitted they are incompetent to actually enforce rules and provide a proper experience. Even for a touring Broadway musical they seem to think that rowdy behavior is fine. I have been a contributor at a high level for 20 years and a former board member for 5 years. They need new operating leadership because their COO is incompetent and was never anything more than a cheerleader. The CEO seems to have checked out. It is really a shame. This no longer is a venue to enjoy arts. A redneck comedy show is fine.

Cute old theater BUT as other reviews stated there is NO leg room. I’m only 5’2 and I was extremely uncomfortable so just imagine how my husband and other tall people felt. Only a child could be comfortable in those seats. We sat in the balcony (see pics of our view). I always prefer balcony seats personally.

My wife, two children and myself went for a show on Saturday 10/25/14. We parked in the Easton parking garage. $2 for parking was a bargain. We rode the shuttle to the theater (which was free). We went into the theater and were guided to our seats by a very pleasant staff. They were very helpful. We were seated in the balcony, 2nd row. When the seats filled up, they were so uncomfortable. I had to sit kind of sideways with my legs scrunched. I was in so much pain I could not wait for the show to be over. Thank god it was only 90 minutes. I thought about leaving part way into the show but didn't want to upset my wife. It's a beautiful theater! I am sure I will never go back. By the end of the show I could barely stand. I told my wife we have to wait until I can walk before we leave. My legs were in so much pain. Beautiful theater, easy parking and inexpensive too. Nice shuttle ride or a short walk. Friendly, helpful and happy employees. The cramped seating killed everything. The kids did enjoy the show. I however was so uncomfortable I didn't really think too much of the show.

I love the State Theatre in Easton. It is an old and beautiful building with lots of charm and great views from most seats. There is a wide variety of programming including traveling Broadway shows. There is really something for everyone. It pays to be a member because you get to order tickets early (and you help a great local theatre). My only negative is the parking situation. There is limited street parking, so you have to park in the city garage or one of the nearby lots that charges during performances. Drop off and pick up is somewhat difficult.

Just saw the Cuban All Stars musical show there and the sound and music were out of this world...better than in Havana. I think they travel all over the world - beautiful music for a gem of a theater. I think they have recently done some "shining up" of the venue- it looked marvelous.

The State Theater does not have a standing show per se, but rather hosts a variety of professional performers (sometimes sponsored by the State Theater - sometimes by outside promoters). Seating is comfortable and most seats have good views. Attractions range from animal shows to musical performances to political comentators.
