Had a ball.
It's true, you have to check in at the place and then drive a short distance to a park that has a parking fee. Cry me a river. People act like they need Four Seasons level service on a river canoe trip.
We did the kayak once and the canoe the second time. Canoe was the move, a little harder to control but easier to pack and drier overall. Both times, we picked the 10 mile trip because when you finish, you don't need to wait for the van, you're already at your car. The earlier you get in the river, the less time you need to paddle. First time, it was a little dry and second time, it rained the day before and we were flying.
Great day on the river, the kids loved it. Anyone whining about this is looking for a white table cloth in the middle of a forest.

We decided to bring our kids rafting for the first time. As explained by our check in host, it was a family-friendly six mile trip. Check in took all of 5
minutes, which was great bc we were excited to get on the water. The crew at the launch area was knowledgeable and competent. They reviewed the safety info and off we went on our 6 mile journey. Beautiful scenery, great equipment, and a memorable experience for the family. We were safely transported back to our car by Moose (an employee, not an animal) who was very pleasant and got us pumped for our next trip. Great operation. All folks wore masks (except on the water) and I felt safe and comfortable. Thank you!

Canoed from Dingman's Ferry to Smithfield Beach with 27 members of a Boy Scout Troop. Perfect 2-day trip with an overnight stay at campsite near Bushkill Access. Only a novice skill level required yet fun trip for experienced older scouts and adults. Dingman's is a good place to start as it allows time to acclimate oneself to canoe before needing to steer in Class 1 rapids (very mild). Most of the River is calm with a mild current.

Please tell your drivers to drive carefully on the way back to the parking lot. I saw number of your cars flying on the bumpy mountain roads. I will not drive there again but your Families and loved ones live there it’s just scary!
We had an amazing experience on the water. Staff was nice and overall all went well until we were placed on the yellow school bus in order to take us back to our car. I was scared for my life and more so for my daughter’s life. Lady driver was going over the speed limit on number of occasions and mountain roads are not made for big busses speeding down the road.
Please be safe!

This was soooo bad 😩. From the very start there was minimal instruction even tho they said this was beginner level. Kid that dropped us off told us to go right at the island… truth is go left at 1st island and then stay to the right the rest of the way. We spent probably an hour trying to get through the shallows to the right of the first island!!! Pushing walking falling crawling. It was horrible and my husband hurt himself which made the remaining 8 miles horrible. Not to mention there was virtually NO current so you had to paddle the WHOLE way. When we finally got to the off spot 2 guys were in the van and didn’t even offer to come help us. I finally hollered that we needed help and they reluctantly came over. Then we had to walk quite a way back to the car. Never again!

Adventure Sports are a First Class operation. They are so organized and make renting from them a breeze. We had 5 people in our party and everyone had a tremendous time. Their canoes and kayaks are in such great condition. This was our second overnight trip with Adventure Sports and we look forward to going many more times. Thank you again.

We did the 6 mi trip. It took us about 4 hours to get to the final pick up location at 6pm. We had a nice leisure paddle where we stopped at several locations swam a lot and even had a nice long lunch. They drop you off back at your car which is nice

Fantastic overnight canoe and camp this past Saturday/ Sunday. Adventure Sports are a top class outfit from booking thru to collecting our canoes at Smithfield beach. The Adventure Sports team is always friendly and helpful. John ( the owner) is well respected and admired from all the people I have ever talked to. You can see people enjoy working for him and his company. Thank you for always providing fantastic equipment and excellent customer service.

I know it is August, but we were treated like cattle as staff were simply going thru their routine to get us on our way. The staff at the landing beach were not any better, emphasizing where NOT to leave the boat because it would be annoying to them. The life vests were super old, the van ride was so rough I almost lost a kidney, and unless you are on the USA Olympic rowing team the 2 hour paddle is really more like 2.5-3 hours. I guess it is time for the kids they hired to go back to school!

One of the best and friendliest experiences I’ve had with any outdoor or tour company. I’ve done many trips in multitudes of countries and Adventure Sport stands out for its timeliness, affordability, customer service, and above all- welcoming friendliness. Will definitely come back and will recommend to anyone wanting an unforgettable experience in nature.

Can we do picnic or do something else if one of the family member doesn’t want to join the rafting?

Unfortunately the closest place for that would be Lake Wellenpaupak I believe. That is a 45 minute drive north of us in Hawley, PA. Good luck!
