I really tried hard to avoid writing this. I never write a review unless I have something stellar to say about an individual or business because I recognize that sometimes people and places have "off" days and things just don't go according to the best laid plans. This, however, deserves the terrible review I am giving it. I held my son's birthday party at Really Cooking with Robin and was really excited for what I hoped would be really fun experience for my little guy, who currently wants to be a chef. I was promised a birthday party of fun party where the kids would be led in making pizza and popcorn and decorating a cupcake in a kid-friendly way. What I got was rudeness to the children and to the parents to such an extent that I found myself apologizing to the other parents in attendance. When we arrived, the location was very sparsely decorated with one small arrangement of three balloons in the center of one table. I mention this because I was told the place would be decorated with balloons. Robin then proceeded to essentially ignore my son and the other children until all the guests arrived. When the activities actually started, Robin acted annoyed, impatient, and downright angry with the little kids. Mind you, these are four year olds and Robin previously told me she frequently has parties for kids of this age. She practically yelled at my son and some of the other kids for fidgeting in their seats and for not exactly following her directions. For example, while making pizza, she instructed the kids to turn a container of olive oil upside down and count to three so dispense the right amount of olive oil. One little child did this but also squeezed the bottle of olive oil. It did not spill or dispense too much but she jumped down this child's throat as though she committed a terrible offense. At another time, she rudely and in a terrible tone told another child that he'd had plenty of cheese for his pizza and couldn't have anymore. She had a giant bowl of shredded cheese and it really wouldn't have made much of a difference to indulge this little guy with another sprinkle. At one point, she yelled at the kids as well as their parents to memorize the number of their plate so the could identify their pizzas. It was a legitimate holler at both the kids and the adults. She was so incredible unfriendly and mean that I spend the whole party apologizing to the parents. Robin did not break a smile a single time during the CHILDREN'S BIRTHDAY PARTY. All the while, Joe sat in the back and looked on without a word. While the pizza was baking, the children were to have a few minutes to watch a little movie clip from a movie of our choice. I brought a DVD, as I was told to, of our chosen movie. Joe could not get the DVD to work and admitted it was because he could not find the remote. He and Robin seemed utterly unprepared for the party and as though they just showed up that morning and made minimal effort for it - perhaps the way you might if you learned at the last minute that you would have guests coming to your house in the next 30 min. So, instead of the movie we chose, Joe put on YouTube videos of the movie characters my son liked. EXCEPT, these videos were completely unvetted and contained ADULT CONTENT from adult parodies of the kids movie. I found myself again profusely apologizing to parents and rushing over to Robin and Joe to ask them to please turn it off as they seemed wholly unconcerned about this. The rest of the party was not much better. Robin barked orders at the children during the decorating of the cupcakes. I thought this would be a fun part where the kids could go a little crazy with sprinkles and frosting, but no. It was a minuscule portion of frosting and barely any decorations. I ended up cutting the party 30 min. short and running out of there as fast as I could. My son, who is very vocal when he loves something, said barely a word about his party. Other parents tried to be kind but I joked that Robin forgot to take her pills that morning or something. It was a truly embarrassing experience. HERE'S THE KICKER! I emailed Robin immediately after the party to briefly express my disappointment and asked to speak to her about it. She ignored it. I followed up three times over the course of the next week. She ignored it all. To date, she has not responded to emails I know she received since all were sent to the email address she used to communicate with me for that party. This was a really horrible experience, made worse by the unprofessional conduct of Robin and her husband in completely ignoring a customer who had a legitimate issue. Save your money and do not work with these people.

We had such a great time with Robin & Joe. The food was fantastic and the conversation & laughs were even better. It’s like having fun with friends in your home kitchen! We are planning to go back!

I am very disappointed with the experience. I attended a Saturday night private party and Robin was not friendly, and the food was inedible. The ingredients were extremely low quality and very small portions. The cooking part was minimal. Robin did most of the cooking beforehand, and to the side with little participation from the party members. This was a very expensive experience at $65 a person for extremely unsatisfying food and experience.

Very basic skills taught. NOT to advance your cooking technique. We had a Thai class but nothing was taught about Thai technique( lemon grass...) Very basic recipes. Very disappointed in the pre-made box brownies made with oil as dessert, REALLY! The cost of $65 per/person for jasmine rice, chicken, and box brownies. Not worth the $

We celebrated my best friends 30th birthday here and had the time of our lives. Robin and Joe put their heart and soul into this experience and you will NOT be disappointed. We started with cheese quesadillas and homemade Sangria that was so fresh and flavorful! Next up we made homemade Mozzarella cheese. Robin shows you how to do everything step by step and gives you the freedom to do things your own way as well which makes it a truly creative experience. We made a fresh Caprese salad with the cheese that we made along with delicious basil from Robin and Joe's garden. We learned some different techniques on how to cut the basil and had a fun time creating our salads. We sat down at their beautiful dining room table and ate our appetizers while fun music was playing in the background. I don't want to forget to mention their awesome photobooth room which includes soooo many hilarious props! We then made low carb Margherita with our homemade cheese. After that we sang karaoke while Robin prepared dessert for us- the most delectable dark chocolate brownie! We left feeling like family and are so excited for the next time we are able to come for a class! I would recommend this experience to anyone looking for something different and fun. If I could give them more than 5 stars I would!
