The County is a nonprofit, community-based movie theater that specializes in independent, art, and foreign films. We are also one of the region's premier cinema destinations, offering, in addition to our regular programming, a variety of special events ranging from Saturday Kid's Matinees to classic Hollywood films. We regularly present local filmmakers and host discussion groups and lectures. "County Theater, Inc." is a 501 (c) (3) tax-exempt nonprofit corporation which owns and runs the theater.

In this day and age of reclining theatre seats, surround sound and 3-D movies it's a breath of fresh air to encounter a local theatre that shows quality films - new releases and old - in a nice family environment. The refreshments don't require a credit application and while it's not the 'Super Theatre' experience the quality of the films... More

If you are put off by a cineplex with dozens of screens, this is the theater for you. They have two screens. The County also offers films that won't make it to the Cineplex and run some old films from time to time. If you are in the area check out what is playing, you may be pleasantly surprised.

County theater is a comfortable, affordable neighborhood theater. Right now they only have 2 theaters but they are planning on expanding. They show a variety of movies from 1st run to old movies.

Recently viewed a film at The County Theater. Staff were excellent - very friendly and helpful. The prices are reasonable (actually fantastic compared to the big theater companies). The snack bar selection is great - they offer hot tea, multiple varieties. A bottle of water is $1.25, not $5/6 like other theaters. The theaters are really, really, worn out. The... More

If you love the odd, old, independent films, you'll love The County Theater. You are sure to find the unusual selection of films, some never make it to the "big screen"... but they should. Also it is a very intimate place. Comfy seats, small area, so you never feel they have to blast the sound. A great concession stand also!

Well worth a membership, or at least a visit for a good indie new release or classic. Old style theater, about to expand beyond its two screens, with good popcorn and snacks at reasonable prices, and a small-town feel.

This is a great local theater. I watch a few independent films a year here, plus attend lectures, local screenings and other events throughout the year. We are lucky to have this gem so close to home. I'm looking forward to their expansion project that will soon be underway adding a third screen and additional lobby / multi-use space.

A classic theater, fully restored, graciously and generously supported by the community. Two theaters. Great films. About to expand into the building next door. This cultural icon is a true gift to the community.

The County Theater is a very enjoyable and very much a part of the charm and ambiance of Doylestown. It has been restored and is small, but you can see both first run and independent films here without going all the way to Philadelphia.
