- Jill BGarner, North Carolina9 contributionsFantastic fun!Ales every child feel like a prince/princess. What a fantastic treasure locals have! We live many states away, but found time in our vacation to work on a 2 hour visit. It was hot and quote busy the day e went, but still so fun! We packed a picnic snack, and have plenty of shady tables from which to choose. I overheard a group of young mother's talking about their monthly meeting there. On girl said she had never been, and one girl said she had never even heard of it! That's sad for something so cool to not be better promoted locally. I found it on the internet before we ever left. Love it,over it!!Visited August 2020Traveled with familyWritten August 20, 2020
- jnypa291Staten Island, New York66 contributionsIncredible attraction for kidsMy kids (2, 5 and 9) played for 2 and half hours at this place in 35 degree weather and didn't want to leave. It's_that_fun. We came all the way from New York City specifically to see this attraction (and a few others). My kids would come again just to go to the kids castle. It just never got boring for my kids. They, and I, highly recommend it.Visited January 2021Written January 18, 2021
- Megan MPrinceton, New Jersey584 contributionsYou MUST go to this park! This is an AWESOME park!! I took my kids and met up with a friend on the Thursday of NJ Teacher Convention. We live in NJ and had no school, and PA schools were in session, so the park wasn't overly crowded. It was the prefect day to go! My 6 and 1/2 year old and 3 and 1/2 year old were able to navigate the park on their own. We ended up spending about 4 and 1/2 hours at the park! We packed a lunch (picnic tables are located outside of the park area). There were water fountains and port-a-pottys. The park in fenced in with one entrance/exit, so it's easy to keep track of the kids. This was totally worth the 50 minute drive and I can't wait to take the kids again!Visited November 2022Written November 10, 2022
- samthegirlCharlottesville, Virginia34 contributionsCastle FunAgree with the other reviewers; this is a great place. You can't supervise really small toddlers in the castle, but there are adjacent playgrounds that are great for little siblings. We enjoyed the small trail nearby. I would add to that shade is minimal around the castle so bring a hat while your kid plays. Also, as others have note, there are no permanent bathrooms.Visited August 2023Written August 14, 2023
- Chris B7 contributionsGreat free funI just recommended this place to clients right now. It’s a great FREE place to bring kids. Even 10 year olds to play. The playground is huge and there is also a creek behind it that is like 3 inches that kids love. Chris Vtrainers Personal TrainingVisited April 2022Traveled with familyWritten April 16, 2022

- Gabe KPhiladelphia, Pennsylvania109 contributionsGreat for kids, not so much for parentsI used to take my kids to this park but it became such a bother. If you go with one kids it is fine, since you can follow this young one around, but two or more kids, you are always losing one. It is too hard to keep track of all your kids.Visited October 2012Traveled with familyWritten September 21, 2013
- Carol188 contributionsMost Fantastic Playground Ever! This is the king of playgrounds. I took my (almost ) 5 year old grandson here recently and he had a terrific time ....climbing and running, sliding and swinging. The castle is huge and occupies the kids for a longer time than most playgrounds. One warning, though -- if you have to follow a younger child into the castle --it is not "back friendly". You will have to stoop down, crawl, slide and wiggle your way through this kid sized environment---not fun if you are older or larger or have back issues. Plus, kids can go in and not come out until they want to --- and sometimes you can't get them out if they want to stay inside! With that said, this is a fantastic place to bring the kids --lots of room to bring a picnic lunch, and plenty of equipment to occupy lots of kids for hours and hours---be prepared to stay a while.Visited June 2012Traveled with familyWritten June 11, 2012
- Steve M41 contributionsAwesome redesign but ...Awesome redesign but still scary to bring a bunch of kids too. Lost our kids several times in castle. Didn't like the fact adults were also in castle. Should be completely fenced off to contain children and would be abductors. Better places to go.Visited November 2013Traveled as a coupleWritten April 2, 2014

When we a re visiting my daughter in college we are always looking for something new to do, this Kid's Castle kept on coming up so we had to go to it. Imagine a Grandmother, Mother and college kid climbing around a big jungle gym!! Lol!! It was fun!! It has slides inside, rope bridges, ladders to climb, etc. it is a great way for a 'kid' to get some FUN exercise and get some energy out. We wouldn't mind going back and exploring the whole park. Lots of walking paths and picnic tables.

This is an amazing park and we are so fortunate to have it in our backyard! The castle gets super busy on weekends, and it is not recommended for younger kids age 4 and below to go in by themselves. But as an adult, I welcome the excuse to go climbing inside with my kids.

I dreamt of a playground like this as a child, I can only imagine how it looks through the eyes of one. It's a HUGE structure, and thanks to 100% private donations for new renovations, our kids can enjoy it for many more years to come. A beautiful, clean park with a little creek in the back where my kids always seem to get soaked. They love it!

What are the hours of operation on Sunday?

It is open during daylight hours. There are no gates to keep people out but there are a few cameras for safety and security reasons. There are signs that ask people to stay off during poor weather but again it is not overseen by employees.

Are dogs allowed?
Lisa S

Dogs are allowed in the park on a leash, but I don't believe they are allowed in the castle area itself. If your kids are old enough to go in the castle area by themselves, you can have a dog outside the castle fence. There is only one entrance into the castle area and the fence is not high, so you can easily keep an eye on them.

The closest port is the Port of Philadelphia, and unless you are doing a shore excursion from there, the answer is no. Even if you come into Philadelphia, the castle is a good hour's drive from the port.

There is no grilling in the playground itself although there are pavilions and picnic areas around the Park. It's best to call Doylestown Township's main offices directly to find out all the offer. I hope that helps :)

Visit the Central Park page (the park where Kid's Castle is located) here: goo.gl/kJBSQ5 It doesn't directly say that grilling is allowed or prohibited, but the Park Map shows there's a Pavilion facility and the Events section mention something about a Barbecue Party. You'll get the idea.
Can You Grill At Kids castle?
BetsyLeeK
Doylestown, PA26 contributions
Not in the actual Castle confines (within the Castle walls), but there are picnic tables very close by and you could grill there.
