I have been wanting to visit here for years and finally got to go and I absolutely loved it. Centralia in general has a cool and yet eerie vibe which makes it just that much more amazing I recommend going 100%

Unique abandoned roadway that became a haven for grafitti artists. Splendid artwork and is a must see if you are in the area.

This makes an amazing casual stroll. You will be surrounded by art, and on a good day, the artists themselves. Park at the north end near the cemetery. Don't be dumb and let your kids go ripping down this road on their bikes, like the...More

If you are looking for grafitti that may or may not be Art, this is not the place. Go to NYC or Philly. About 1/2 way down old Route 61, you can see where the road has cracked to the point where the median is...More

It's technically illegal to be on the highway. I have heard that the police are now monitoring the area. We basically walked out to see it, took one picture and then left. I don't see any reason to walk the whole thing or to spend...More

Add this to your list of free things to do. Research Centralia and what happened years ago to this small town and find out how Graffiti Hwy started.

Centralia has a turbulent history; an underground coal fire that started in the 60s (which is still burning today) has gradually forced residents to leave. Only a few inhabited houses remain, and everything else has been removed. Supposedly Centralia was the inspiration for Silent Hill....More
