About Colebrookdale Railroad
Lost in the deep woods sheltering the Manatawny and Ironstone Creeks is a mythical secret valley. Though today only white-tailed deer, great blue heron, and bald eagles know the beauty of this legendary land, it was once the province of pioneers and patriots. Their stories can be heard in the soft winds whispering through the tall trees and towering trestles of the Colebrookdale Railroad - a magical, forgotten railway to the heart of this Secret Valley. The "Secret Valley Line" is your ticket to a place and time when iron rails connected a divided people and the heart of the nation pulsed with the potent energy of the steam locomotive. Completed by soldiers home from the Civil War just four months after the Transcontinental Railroad united the East and West, the Colebrookdale is a record of epic engineering and heroic human drama. Eight-point-six miles long and a century-and-a-half back in time, the Secret Valley Line beckons you to experience for yourself the unexpected treasures of Southeastern Pennsylvania.

We had a wonderful time on the Doodlebug. The scenery was very nice. The train was very clean. It's great for all ages. I just wish the conductor had a microphone when he spoke about the history of the railroad. It was hard to hear. We hope to do the dinner trip sometime in the future.

You have to see this train to believe it - it’s GORGEOUS! The fully restored cars, like the Parlor Car and the Lounge Car, are jaw-droppingly beautiful, rivaling The Orient Express or - for that matter - any train in the world. But even the cars that have not been restored yet are decorated so that you feel you’re more in a luxurious garden cafe, or at a fancy dinner party, than on a train. The service is also way beyond what you would expect on an excursion train in a small Pennsylvania town. White-jacketed servers wearing white gloves offer everything from sarsaparilla to Cosmopolitans, as well as tapas plates, hummus plates, and - on lunch and dinner trains - full three-course meals. The end of every two-hour journey to Pottstown and back is celebrated with a complementary glass of sparkling wine. I’ve seen proposals, weddings, and parties in the parlor car; it’s that elegant. (It even has a musician at the baby grand piano on most runs.). You can reserve a seat in the locomotive, take over the whole caboose, even rent the whole train. A steam engine is coming soon to Boyertown from Colorado, which will bring thousands more riders to the Colebrookdale. We’ll be back!

Overall just an awesome place. Best tourist railroad in the state. The cars are beautifully restored, and overall the atmosphere is really amazing. Yoy can really tell the quality and time put into the restoration of all the cars. Would definitely reccomend if you are looking for an enjoyable, relaxing evening.
