Amish Country Tours is the oldest operating tour company in Amish Country, and the only operator with certified guides. Far from the commercial clutter of Route 30, the Amish Experience at Plain & Fancy Farm sits on Route 340 between Bird-in-Hand and Intercourse, a non-commercial AAA designated Scenic Cultural Byway, surrounded by Amish farms. Our exclusive Amish Visit-in-Person Tour is the only opportunity of its kind to allow for close interaction with the Amish at work, at milking time, and in the home, and the only tour designated by the County of Lancaster as an official Heritage Tour. It is limited to 14 guests on our mini-shuttles.

Was an enjoyable informative show but they held it up from starting on time by waiting for a group of people that were late.

I’m glad to hear that you enjoyed the show. We did end up having our interactive pre-show/intro go on a bit longer since we had a large group that was late, so we apologize for the inconvenience.

Amish Experience is an unique one. So far away of our noisy world. Basic values. But true ones. You exit from here with the sensation you re missing something in our lives.

Cute show, would be good for families with younger children. Story is told while watching beautiful slides projected through the lantern.

Enjoyed the theatre presentation and the farmland tour. Felt the farmhouse tour was good, but rushed. Perhaps there should be more time scheduled between tours so tour guide would not have to rush through and could allow for more questions.More

Dear Kris, Thank you for your review. It sounds like you had a lot of questions, which is great! We certainly don't want you to feel rushed, and want to be able to answer what questions we can. Unfortunately, in a 45 minute tour there...More

The film was very interesting although didn't really show how Jacob made the choice to join the church. The visit of the Homestead was fine but felt a little contrived as was not a living home, but more like a museum. The guides were all...More

Dear Jane, Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us! I’m glad to hear you found the film interesting. Unfortunately, it just isn’t possible to have house tours like the ones we offer in a lived-in home. (Understandably, Amish families don't want us touring their...More

I was dumbfound at what I saw on the tour on the farm. The cows were chained up on a small chain and the tour guy stood there telling us how the cows prefer to be in the covered area. Really???? They had enough chain...More

Thank you for your question! Fall can be busy for us at Amish Experience, but probably not as much as during the summer, particularly if you are coming during a weekday.
