We stopped by on a Saturday afternoon fully expecting to wait a couple of hours for a ride, but instead, we were able to go immediately. We had a great ride with (Elizabeth-I think), a grandmother with 21 grandchildren. She was absolutely fantastic with my children (ages 7&9), and all their questions. She didn't seemed annoyed or bored with our... More

Fast, friendly service. We did the 3 mile tour. Seven of us with 4 adults and 3 young children fit on one buggy. We used the $2 off coupon (adults only) off there website. Trip was about 30 mins. Driver was informative about Amish life and happy to answer any questions. Highly recommend. Abe's has been around almost 50 years!

I was a little worried, but the lady driver calmed my fears and we had a wonderful experience. She was very knowledgable , friendly and helpful to our Granddaughters . She let them hold the reins on the country roads.they had the time of their lives. Afterwards they had an Amish child's dress for sale for a very reasonable price... More

Don't be fooled by the tour operated buggy rides with bigger signs and flash advertising - this is the real deal. Our buggy and driver were top notch. Friendly, knowledgeable, and extremely good natured (we had an infant along). Our 3 mile ride lasted about half an hour (a good time for a warm day) and the sights and information... More

Earl, the owner, is a good man and maintains his horses well. Clean restrooms on grounds. Took the hour ride. Homemade root beer on premises. Go early. Our guide, Elizabeth, was superb, both pleasant and informative. Really nice ride. Opt for something other than visiting the amish home. Although the owner was personable, there was little if anything of value... More

This was probably the best part of our trip, the owners are so sweet and our driver erwin or edwin (forgot his name) was so sweet. We have 5 children under 9 and he allowed our oldest boy to drive the buggy. What an experience, we will never forget! We learned so much and absolutely recommend this company! Thank you... More

This place is a hidden gem. It is not well advertised at all and as such gives great personal service. Our driver, Paul, was very kind toward our two young boys and answered all of our questions. We felt like we got a lot of information on the culture, traditions, and everyday life. I would suggest this company.

If you are going, only go with Abes. You get a buggy and tour guide all for yourself. We got personal attention and all our questions were answered since he takes one family at a time. Not like other buggy rides were they push 20 ppl. onto a buggy.

If you're visiting Lancaster, a trip to Abe's Buggy Rides really is a MUST DO. I love that it's authentic and friendly. While waiting for your ride, there are animals to feed (25 cents a cup for feed) and a playground for the little ones to keep entertained. There is a decent restroom in the barn, which can be important... More

We came across Abe's by checking reviews on Trip Advisor after seeing that Aaron & Jessica's buggy rides were jammed pack full of people. At Abe's, We got our own private buggy ride for our family of three. Our guide, Paul was friendly, knowledgeable, kind, and all staff took their time and answered questions. Paul stopped and our daughter was... More
