Excellent trail, but I ride hard and fast. The Bethel Park section can get pretty crowded with walkers. I have found that many do not have much respect for bikers. I added a horn to my bike to let them know that I am coming, but it seems to upset them even more! As beautiful as it is, it is... More

This is one of the largest trails in the Pittsburgh area. It goes from peters township to South Park, and parts of Finleyville all the way to the Airport.. It appears that this is in everyone's neighborhood. Check it out. Well maintained and kept up.

This trail used to be a railway bed and is paved and goes miles and miles through the woods, bypassing homes and businesses. It's a lovely way to cycle, walk or skate. I saw it all there!

Discovered the trail (at the Bethel Park entrance) a few months ago and really enjoy riding our bikes and enjoying the scenery! We've heard a lot about the trail in Peter's Township as it has a tunnel etc... Can't wait to try it out as our son especially would love it!

This trail is well kept and easy to access. Many of the neighborhood people walk there daily. The new bridge makes it easier to get across the busy intersection by Al's Cafe. It is a peaceful walking area with lots of greenery and you can sometimes see a deer or some squirrels as you walk..

The Montour Trail is very nicely developed from the old Montour Railroad, which transferred coal throughout western PA. The trail is well maintained and traverses a wide variety of areas.

This is a trail made by converting the old Montour railroad right of way to a wonderful recreation facility. It begins at the Ohio River near Ambridge and winds its way around the South Hills of Pittsburgh to Clairton. There are at least 50 miles of uninterrupted trail. Since trains were not very good at climbing hills, the trail grade... More

The Montour Trail is just a great place to exercise, get away, and enjoy nature. This particular section is crushed limestone, so it's easy on the feet for running, and more challenging for biking. Other parts of the trail are paved, but still fantastic.

Great place for a stroll or a bike ride. Close to major rodes but secluded once you get on to the trail.

This trail is fine, but it's a little choppy, meaning that it ends abruptly and it's sometimes difficult to find where it picks up again. I felt safe enough there, but my mother-in-law thinks it's too isolated to be safe. Maybe not recommended.
