The Berwick Historical Society is located on the property of The Jackson Mansion.
I took a tour of the Mansion with my family. The price is inexpensive for a tour. If you enjoy the Victorian style-themed era, this house will be enjoyable to tour.
For locals, it will give you a glimpse back into that time in Berwick which is neat to hear about our local history.
Check out their website for special events such as Christmas time. I hear it is beautifully decorated at Christmas time.

My husband grew up in this town, and at one time, this building known as the Jackson Mansion was used for municipal offices. My husband remembers going to the library here, but the curator that has been hired is doing an amazing job of restoration along with all the volunteers and donors who put in their time and financial assistance. Volunteers give the tours on Tuesday/Saturdays at 11:30 and 1:30, but it is so worth the time and money (about $10 per person). This is a beautiful example of a Victorian style mansion, and rooms are sponsored by local businesses as well as some families. Currently the first and second floors are open for the tour, but the 3rd is being worked on and the basement will hopefully follow. I will be looking forward to touring again in the future to see what amazing work they have done with the remainder!

My husband and I were very privileged to receive a tour of the Jackson Mansion through the Berwick Historical Society and the kindness of its director. What a fantastically knowledgeable man! The mansion is a beautiful building and the furnishings, including wallpaper and carpets, pay such homage to the original owners. This is truly a special experience. Please remember to call ahead to get on the schedule. If we lived in the area, we would certainly join in on the special events.

My husband and I really enjpyed our tour of the Jackson Mansion. Our guide made it so interesting as she shared her own experiences in Berwick. I am fascinated with the whole Victorian era. I appreciate that the historical society has restored the mansion to look as much as it did in its former glory.

I called the Historical Society several times to attempt to mdonate a chamber pot. The phone calls were never returned. I finally stopped by the society and asked if they would be interest in a chamber pot. They asked if I would be interested in just donateding it for the storage room if they ever needed it. I will destroy it before I donate it to a strorage room.

Very sad town. Nothing to see or do.One of the most depressed areas I've ever seen. Keep driving on through to next town west called Bloomsburg.
