The Elk Country Visitor Center is a premier location for viewing elk and other wildlife in Pennsylvania. The center offers interactive exhibits and displays and encourages a 'hands on' experience. Our 4D story theater immerses guest in the history of Pennsylvania elk and the Pennsylvania Wilds. Our gift shop sell Made in the USA product, many of those by local artisans and product makers. The best time to view is early in the morning or in the hours before dark. Elk are wild animals and you can't be promised you will see them.

The visitors center will fill you in on everything "elk"! Even if you don't spot an elk - this place is a wealth of knowledge and absolutely beautiful! If you want to see real live elk - you need to get there (or in a local viewing area) just after sunrise or just before sunset. We spent an entire day... More

This place is great. It is a good learning center to explored the elk of elk county. There is a lot of information about the elk and other wildlife of elk county. There are also many areas for viewing the elk which roam wild in the town and surrounding areas. We go every year in October which is the rutting... More

We go here a couple times a year. The best time is mid September to mid October. This is their mating season. We love to hear them bugle, that's their mating call. All I can say is, if you have never been there, you need to go there. Awesome place to go.

We visited here several times over the course of our stay to view not just the center, but their accessible viewing fields. There are many educational displays. There is a hands-on camera that scans the fields; places to rest, modern restrooms in the middle of nowhere, a gift shop with made-in-America stock, walking paths around the outside of the building,... We stopped at the center on Oct 11th at 3 pm. the place was filled with visitors and a very nice establishment. we thought they might tell us where the elk were, but they did not. The building was full of information on elk in Pa. And a great stop

Took our grandsons, ages 3 & 5, to visit the elk visitors center in Benezette,pa. Great time. There is a 2 horse drawn wagon ride, but you have to call the day before your visit to reserve your tickets. Our grandsons loved it! We got the greatest memories!

This is a great place for the family. Not only to view Elk in their natural habitats, but to visit inside the visitor center and explore what they have to offer. Would suggest going early in the morning or later in the evening (dusk) for Elk viewings. We visited in the Fall and the scenery alone is beautiful. Saw many... More

We visit Elk County every year, and in particular, Benezette, PA to view the elk during the rut, and then after as they wander along people's lawns. They are spectacular animals and the bugling is beyond description!

This visitor center is very nice! Large glass windows for those who want to stay inside but still have an opportunity to view the outdoors, kids area for learning about wildlife, mounted animals, a gift shop, friendly staff, wagon ride, small selection of food from a vending cart outside, flat paths and nice viewing areas. Parking in peak time can... More

The visitors center is a beautiful property in the middle of the elk heard in PA. Lots of displays and hands on things for the kids. There was even a tourist bull making an appearance at the facility entrance. Food trucks for lunch and coffee. A definite must do if in the Benezette area.
