The town is adorable to walk through, but the historical railroad won't take more than a few minutes to walk through

The building and history of train travel through Bellefonte are very interesting. The town has done a good job of keeping the surrounding area very pleasant to walk around. Unfortunately, the train was not operating the day we visited and inside the train station could be so much more inviting.

my daughter lived in Belle Fonte while attending dickinson law now penn state school of law. she moved to this once super prosperous victorian town to escape the hub bub of state college. see belle fonte before it gets discovered and taken over by starbucks gap etc. if vicorian houses and jumble shops by the dozen are your thing this is for you. and the steam train especially during leaf peeping season is wonderful. also, the town park has a stream running through it with golden trout. yes golden trout.. google it...they and the numerous and various waterfowl can be feed from 25cent machines that dispence healthy food pellets. a quirky and delightful town
