My husband and I finally found the whale as we were leaving Yachats on our way to Florence. We finally got directions and I'm glad that we found it. I loved when the water shot up! We got some great pictures too.

We had problems to find the Bazalgette the Whale at Whale Park. We knew it was close to a hotel.

We eventually found it. It was made of metal with a fin of a whale.

The fun of it all, was to find the Bazalgette the Whale at Whale Park

Worthwhile to find it!

A mound of grass, a metal whale tale, and a piped spout that sprays quite often. Definitely worth looking at as you drive by on 101. It is on North side of 101, at the South end of commercial district but before the bridge.

There isn't much to see. The park is super small and right along the highway, but it is cute. The first time the spout goes will be a surprise.

It's not so much a park. Instead, it's the front lawn of the lovely Ocean Cove Inn. But it's a great public art installation, with a surprise every minute...

It's a patch of lawn in front of the Ocean Cove Inn. It has a whale tail sculpture. There's supposed to be a spout of water but I never saw it. Cute idea but...

We like to stroll through Yachats and often come of the whale...great peice of locla color, near one of the favorite hardware stores on the coast...everything you need but might have forgot...cute kids river shoes.

We enjoyed watching the intermittent mist shooting into the air to simulate a whale spouting, as we dined nearby in the heart of Yachats.

This park is located along side HWY 101 in Yachats. It is in actuality a sculpture of a whale. The park is designed as the back of a whale with a set of flukes on the south end and a nozzle in the ground that acts as the whale blowhole.

It is always fun to watch the "whale" spout! I love it enough to wait for spout after spout. He was on vacation for the winter when we were there in March but will be back come spring.
