Oregon Hwy 101 view

I decided to drive to the top of Cape Perpetua and overlook Highway 101 and I must say what a view plus the road driving up wasn't to bad either.

Although you'll see majestic-to-peaceful coastal scenes any time of year or in any weather, try to pick a sunny day at low tide for the best beach-combing and shore-walking. An unseasonably warm day in February is ideal so that you miss the crowds and can find a parking spot easily. Lots of panoramic pullouts for travelers with less mobility to... More

This coastline is amazing from the top. The view of the ocean, and the green wall of trees remind you of the simple but majestic beauty of nature. Trumps pretty much any man-made structure.

The estuary is a good place to play with your dog or just walk (when the tide is out) and look in the rock pools. The coast road is ideal to watch the waves crash onto the rocks.

Beautiful scenery, plenty of wildlife (whales, eagles, sea lions), good local restaurants! Yachats is a great place to spend the day or the night on the Oregon coast!

Walking along the 804 trail that parallels the Yachats' coastline is one of my favorite coastal walks in any season and at any time of the day. You will feel like you are one with the Pacific Ocean as you watch the spray of the crashing waves, see birds dart in and out of the spray, see occasional frolicking sea... More

If you're looking for a unique, small town, charming little get-away RIGHT on the ocean, look no further than Yachats Oregon. It is right on Highway 101 but this is not a deterrent to the charm of the place. The town is small, with a few restaurants and little shops to explore but the beaches are really where it's at... With the 6 mile sandy beach, tide pools, rock formations and foliage.....this area is really a spectacular paradise.
