The Yachats (Yaw-hots) area has miles of both beautiful beaches and ruugged coast to explore. But don't miss the eclectic shops and restaurants in town.

Yachats does have a sandy beach in the small bay where the Yachats river comes out, but it's high basalt cliffs at the shoreline are the defining feature. Can walk along the basalt shore from Smelt Sands state park along the 804 trail. Can cross the bridge at the South end of town and park anywhere along the frontage road;... More

From wide sandy beaches to craggy rocks, there is something for everyone. Great for collecting shells and agates. Benches are conveniently located along the cliff tops for viewing the surf, birds, sea lions and occasional whales. The shrimpers were out, and the lights at night from their boats were beautiful.

Exciting and very beautiful. The sights and sounds of the waves at Perpetual Cove, Devils Cauldron, and the rocks at the Adobe were awe inspiring.

This is a small town to get lost in, not just another drive by or shot pit stop. Yachats or Ya-hots is a true jem that many have kept to themselves for far to long. Once you stay that first weekend exploring you will spend the rest of your life counting down to your next visit.

Beautiful little town, right out of the middle of everything. We will be returning here. The Yachats beach was absolutely STUNNING at sunset... and we spent a good hour there just taking it all in.

Loved our drive down the 101. The views are stunning the whole way down the coast. Yachats coastline is a perfect spot for that great photo.

I am a huge fan of the entire Oregon coast line drive evry bit of it you ca. The part near yachats is really neat lots of jagged rocks and places where the ocean pounds the rocks. Lots of places to pull over and take pictures Cooks chasm is my favorite spot to pull over and walk the little trail... More

Beautiful coastline with plenty of pull outs and parking to use that camera. Hallmark photo opportunities every mile. No matter the weather it is always a delight.

The drive down 101 is one stunning view after another, and well worth stopping in and around Yachats. The distressing disappointment was that the tide pools at Strawberry Hills no longer have sea stars or much other life. We were told that something - a bacteria? has killed almost all sea stars along the entire coast. I was last there... More
