With a group of six, we climbed the 60 steps to the base of the lenses. Included were facts such as how the red lenses were made as this lighthouse has both a white and red signature. Explanations of how the old weight system was...More

We visited the Umpqua River Lighthouse and Museum. Volunteer Susie gave a great and informative tour. Cost was $8 per adult. The views of the ocean are wonderful and there is plenty of parking. I would highly recommend this stop

Great view of the ocean. Nice lighthouse. Can not review too much because it is closed till May 1. Sure it would have been good. Cost is $5 for adults.

The Umpqua River Lighthouse is on Coast Guard property, but it is very accessible. There are guided tours offered during the summer. The lighthouse is easily accessible from highway 101.

A short excursion off of Hwy 101. You don't have to get out of the car to see everything. A nice plaque gives you the history of the lighthouse.

This is billed as a whale watching place, but when you get there the sea is just too far away. Go elsewhere to watch whales. the light is neat, but closed when we got there, so no comment.
