Hidden Gem of Local History

The title is a bit of a misnomer as the cemetery and church sit right alongside Hwy 101 at the exit to Camp Rilea. However, most people drive right by.

The church, billed as the oldest Presbyterian Church in the West, sits alongside the cemetery. Walking through the cemetery feels like a step back into early Clatsop history with burial plots for names like Gearhart and Warren (Warrenton). Wandering through the plots dating back to the mid-1800's really makes you think about the lives of early pioneers and the stories they could tell.

We didn't visit inside the church as there was a service ready to start.

Well worth a stop.

It's a nice place to stop and see a little history and to stroll though the Cemetery if that is your thing! Has a great church on the property and very pretty.
