My husband and I stayed at Beachside over the Forth of July weekend in 2016. I'll give you the big con first, then the pros. The big con is that this camp site is right next to US Highway 101, so the noise of the tricks, campers, and cars is constant. So if you choose a sit, you might consider one that is as close to the ocean side as possible to drown out the highway noise. Now the pros. The site has a fabulous sandy beach that one can literally walk for miles. It is safe for most folks, as the rocky areas that Oregon is noted for are non existent. There were a lot of families with toddlers (under 8 years old), who seemed to be having a lot of fun. The bathrooms are clean, have flush toilets, and free showers. A good time to shower is around 3:00 in the afternoon, when most people are elsewhere. Some of the camp sites don't have protection from the often howling winds, so be aware of this, especially if you are using a tent. The best spot, according the the ranger is #63, which is in a corner with great ocean views. No protection from the winds.

I know some of the reviews have been negative about this place (and yes some of the tent site are right next to the hwy) but if you can get a trailer spot beachfront it is such a great little campground!!! You have to be quick with your clicking finger at exactly 9 months out from when you want to be there. Very well kept campground, rangers and hosts are nice. The beach is never very crowded and it great for just hanging out and playing on the beach or in the water. It is also a great spot to explore this part of the Oregon Coast. So many day trips - Devils Churn, Strawberry Hill, Sea Lions Cave, Sand Dunes in Florence, Seal Rock and sooo much more

Traveled down from Vancouver BC. Had a lovely trip. Forecast was for good weather and daytime temps of 18-22. We honestly didn't count on the cold wind. We came to camp, in a tent so the nights are very chilly at 13 with a wind off the ocean. We camped in number 11. Nice spot, very close to highway 101, so you get traffic noise all the time. Showers are free and ok, although some people tend to stay in for quite awhile - probably trying to warm up. Firewood at the campground is $5.00 (but just a very short way down the road towards Waldport you can get wood for $3.00 a cubic foot and kindling too). The staff and hosts are nice and considerate. Everyone seems to respect the posted quiet times between 10-7.

Reserved a campsite for a mid summer weekend. Arrived and not only is it a tiny site, sandwiched between two other, ever site is packed, many with families who allowed their children to scream and shout well into the evening. In addition, as the campground is located mere feet from the road, traffic was whizzing by at 60 mph the entire time we were there, adding to the din. Finally a helicopter, presumably taking tourists on rides to view the coastline, kept buzzing the campsite. We stayed one night, then packed up and left. Sorry, while the beach walk was nice, no peace or tranquility here...

Great little campground right on the ocean. 5 stars for location.
I don't usually write reviews but I was shocked at how rude the camp host was and feel compelled to write this one. I'm hoping that she was just having a bad day, because a camp host should be welcoming, or at least cordial - not flat out rude. If I could give zero stars for camp host i would.

Avoid this campsite if you are staying in a tent. Our site was right along the highway and had semi trucks flying by all night long. Didn't get any sleep. If you are staying in an RV and can get a site along the beach, go for it. Proximity to the beach is the only positive. Beverly Beach State Park is nicer, quieter and much more private sites if you can book there.

It is a small park and one only a couple so close to the ocean. It has RV parking with water and electric ( no waste tank dump). It also had tent sites, and many are good sized. The camping fee includes free showers, and wood is available for $5.00 a bundle. Most hook up sites are booked well in advance.

Drove by and to our good fortune someone had left a day early and we got their spot for a night. Have tried many times to just pop in, during, admittedly, the high seasons and camp here but have never been able to; our lucky night. We were in spot #77 and found it to be a roomy, quiet pitch for the evening. Very little traffic noise even though we were there just after July 4th weekend.
We found the rangers and camp hosts (two sets) to be super friendly, personable and available.
The park is very, very well taken care of. The washroom building is well maintained and frequently cleaned. The showers were great and free.
The views from some of the sites are really good but in all honesty the longest walk to a beach access from any site can't be more than 2 minutes. Lovely sandy beach. 3 mile walk to Waldport.
We really enjoyed our visit and will make the effort to book in advance (can book up to 9 months in advance for this park, and perhaps all other state campgrounds, not sure) for one of those lovely oceanview sites!

We visited beachside for a 3-day camping trip and really liked it. The best spots are right on the ocean, and although we reserved many months ahead, we still weren't early enough to get one of these. We were in the middle. I wouldn't want to have one of the roadside sites, but the proximity to the beach was awesome. Next time we'll reserve even earlier to get the premium spots, but I would recommend this campground for its location and amenities.

Just booked site 81 for 3 nights this summer. Wondering if anyone can tell me what the back-in situation is for a 27 foot tow behind trailer in this site. Concerned about trees and how wide the roadway is to pitch the trailer. Thank you!

I have reserved the yurt site, Orion. Does it have sleeping cots inside?

Yes. Yurts in Oregon are equiped with a full/twin bunk and a futon that I think is queen/at least full. They also have a table and a couple of chairs, Skylight that opens, Electricity, Heat, and Lights, Outdoors there is a fire pit and picnic table. They do not allow cooking indoors. You need to bring bedding, cooking equipment and all other camping supplies. Good alternative to a motel.
