I love Belgian-style beers, but they had only six of their beers on tap, five of which were sours or farmhouse ales. Not much variety. Fortunately they had six guest beers on tap, but the one I tried did not impress me. The prices are fair and they have tasting sizes as well as pints, etc (6 oz). They don't offer any food but allow you to bring your own. All the seating is high tops, even on the patio. I hate high-tops, so I left as quick as I could. I didn't even finish my beer. Service is friendly. If you like high-tops and sours, you may like this place.

I've coveted De Garde for close to 10 years after having a recommended bottle at Arch Bridge Taphouse in Oregon City. De Garde beer isn't easy to find either.
De Garde doesn't do standard brewery beer that you'd typically find in the PNW. They specialize in wild yeast, and their taste profiles are unique. Hence, why wouldn't they have flights to better educate new drinkers to their beers? NOPE. No taster flights. Nonsensical. Second, which should be a given since they don't do flights, they don't do tasters. So, you're on the hook for whatever you choose off the board.
I love farmhouse and sour beers, but not even all of De Garde's beers fit my flavor preferences. And I've never been to a brewery's tasting room that didn't do flights and tasters. This is marketing 101.
So after waiting a very long time to finally visit their tasting room, I was incredibly let down. I had half a pint (thankfully something tasty), and my partner had a guest beer (he hates farmhouse anything...), and we left.
2 points for nice atmosphere, having guest taps, and friendly staff.

We are visiting the Oregon Coast on our break and love our beer. We had De Garde bookmarked and were so excited to try their sours. When we arrived at the door, we weren’t greeted and they were complete beer snobs. We turned around and left. They don’t welcome outsiders or questions. It’s more like a bearded brew club. Well you can keep your beer and shove it.

I always stop here when I am in the area. The hours are limited and the space small, but the beers are fantastic. The selection varies as they do not seem to brew in very large batches, but there is always something delicious to be had. No growler fills and purchase limits are enforced, but there is always enough to buy. Super knowledgeable staff, and a great clientele too. A nice place to sit down, enjoy a delicious sour and talk about beer.
You'll want to stop in, because you won't find there stuff at the bottle shop.

I like breweries with an atmosphere of a friend’s living room. This was way stuffier than that. The facility is gorgeous but did not put me at ease. The beers are unusual, but that’s why this is a cult-y brewery. Just not the most welcoming.

Are you kidding me. This was the worst beer I have ever had. Not sure what they trying to do but for us it isn’t working. It was truly nasty. Primitive spurt style beer.

We stopped-in shortly after opening on a Saturday.
The staff was doing a great job with COVID-19 and were taking the safety stuff super-seriously. Tables on the outdoor patio were already full, but there were a (very) small number of indoor tables; with the open windows on a nice day and ample distancing inside, we felt comfortable taking one.
Staff were helpful and attentive, although they seemed less interested in really talking you through the beers than perhaps I expected. There were a handful of beers on draft and a few more available by the bottle. Some you could enjoy only at the brewery; others were available only for take-away.
The tasting room was small and simple...a boutique operation for sure.
Definitely a beer geek’s paradise, especially if you’re into funky wild ales. Not your standard beers! The place seemed to have cult status for the beer-geek crowd, which was cool to see. The beers were indeed super-interesting in their flavor profile. We tried 6 oz pours of three; one had very cool notes of spruce, one had awesome peach notes; one, made in wine barrels, wasn’t a favorite but won points for originality. I’ve had better beers elsewhere (much of that is a matter of taste, admittedly), but give De Garde major points for originality.
Overall, a fun stop.

After a visit to Tillamook Creamery we quickly popped by here. A small and busy taproom. Nevertheless the bartender had time to explain me quite a lot about their beers. I couldn't stay for a drink but bought couple of bottles to go. Next time I definitely make some time to spend few hours here.

Really great beer. Pleasant surprise, hot day at beach ended with this great find. Across the parking lot is a place where several food trucks are available and there is indoor and outdoor seating!! Must stop if in town

Nice people. Easy to find using Google Maps. You have to love sour beer to enjoy this beer. Never had beer made using this method. Realized it is not for me.
