The Sunshine Mill now houses Quenett and Copa Di Vino wineries owned and operated by James and Molli Martin, both from The Dalles. Quenett Winery released its first vintage in 2002 and burst onto the wine scene with its outstanding vintages of Sangiovese and Zinfandel. The word Quenett comes from the journals of Lewis and Clark, who camped along luscious and fruitful banks of the Columbia River and learned from the local Indians that the word Quenett meant "Steelhead."

This is a fun winery that has re-purposed much of the old industrial machinery belonging to the former flour mill called the Sunshine Mill (hence the name.) Today, it still has a vintage look with an eclectic twist. Seating consists of high stools, old couches that are really too low, and over-stuffed chairs. It is home to Quenett and Copa... More

Fun place to visit as this old factory is now a winery putting the original machinery to use as it's decor. Wine tasting and just taking in the vintage objects makes it a fun stop during your time in The Dalles area.

The winery occupies a former flour mill operated by Sunshine Biscuits, hence its name. Some of the old machinery is still on view in the tasting room and adjacent rooms. The tasting room is a large, friendly space with tables, chairs and sofas, and wine tasting can be combined with food - e.g. antipasti, cheese board, artichoke dip. We had... More

We enjoyed 7 tastes for $7 and several of the reds absolutely delicious. We love the COLUMBIA RIVER wineries and this is an excellent one to both taste & enjoy the building history & environment.

I've been to weddings here, love the venue, love their wines. Their mini copas are great for traveling too.

This was originally a flour mill where they made Sunshine Cracker and Hi-Ho's.. Quite a bit of the old equipment is still in place and nicely preserved.. A treat to walk through. Guess I didn't mention "it is a good place to sample wine". Which is made at the mill. Worth stopping by..

This is an historic mill converted to a winery. It is enormous and is almost like a museum with lots of comfy couches and chairs and delicious wine. Our hostess was so kind and helpful helping us to taste a variety of the wines. Would recommend this not just for the wine but the history.

We visited the tasting room on a weeknight. They weren't terribly busy, but we still felt like we got great service. My wife prefers reds, and that was the majority of what we got to taste. We also got a cheese board which included four different cheeses, dark chocolate, dried cherries, and some bread. It was quite good. We will... More

This building is full of history. The second floor is not open to the public but you can see so many interesting things just walking around. The wine choices are the best in Oregon and the appetizers are just the right size. You won't regret stopping at the tallest building in The Dalles.

This old grain mill (birthplace of Cheez-Its) has been re-purposed as a winery and tasting room. The decor is century-old mill equipment and makes an amazing place to sample interesting wines.
