This was the best glass blowing experience I've ever had. My previous experiences was where I assisted the glass blower making my bowl. This time I actually got to do it with the glass blower assisting me. Granted she did a lot that I couldn't do but I felt like I was actually making it. I loved my experience and highly recommend this place.

This is our second time to visit this gallery. My wife has made a glass bowl on two separate occasions and is hooked. I'm sure we'll be back. The individual class takes about 45 minutes. The instructor made it a lot of fun. We have had the same instructor both times. If you are doing a glass blowing class be aware that their safety rules require you to NOT be wearing shorts and you also MUST be wearing close toed shoes (no sandals etc) to participate.

Three of us paid for glass blowing lessons and had soo much fun! I think our instructor was Amanda and she gave great advice in selecting colors to achieve the effects we wanted. We wound up with an audience watching...wear jeans and good solid shoes. Unfortunately, only 1 of our floats made it hoe in Texas intact.

We had seen this company online and was excited to stop and check them out. We drove for quite awhile and finally made it, when we walked in they had one person at the counter that was being helped we stood behind them for about 10 minutes before anyone even acknowledged we were standing there. I was going to schedule a class which would have been in an hour but when I asked to use the restroom while we waited they said I would have to go down the street for a restroom. Who doesn't have a restroom for paying customers???? Needless to say we left and never went back.

First off don't call or email and expect them to respond . I called and emailed several times over a three month time frame trying to get information before they finally called me back . The glassblowing its self was ok . I have a better experience at other studios . But my pieces turned out fine . I made arrangements to have my things shipped . And after almost two weeks I called and left a message because they don't answer the phone . And my things finally came a few days later . In looking at the tracking it showed that it shipped a day after I called . How long would it have taken if I wouldn't have called ?? In the future I will pass on this place and go to the other glassblowing studio in Newport where I had a great experience .

My experience with this Gallery is that it is a poor excuse for a company. I was in Newport on a family reunion and my husband and I have been looking a couple of years for a fruit bowl for my house. We were so excited when we found out the the gallery did special orders. So we spoke with the Artist and showed her the color and size and that I wanted the edges scallop and she said that was not a problem. She said it would take about a month and she would send me a message when they are shipping it. Well I got the bowl(ash tray) this week and it is nothing like I asked for. I tried a couple of times to call and left message. She finally called back today. I started the conversation as I ordered a bowl and received it and that it is not anything like what was talked about in the Gallery. Then the fun begins she started yelling at me that she made the exact bowl i wanted except she did not scallop the edges. She would not let me get a word in she just kept yelling that she made what I asked for. She said I could mail it back and she would made the exact bowl but with scallops. Well When I said i wanted a Fruit bowl but got an ashtray then why would I pay for shipping to get it wrong again. And I also addressed with her that she charged me $40.00 for shipping when on the box it was $22.00. She went on to say that they have to pay for boxes and packing material. Well the box was a used Amazon box and the packing was used news paper.

I would never do business with this Gallery they will rip you off. They do not do what a good company would and admit the error and try and fix it. Instead the costumer service is piss poor.DO NOT ORDER ANY SPECIAL ORDERS FROM THIS GALLERY THEY ARE A RIP OFF.

My wife, daughter, friends and myself visited this gallery on a recent trip to Oregon. We had stopped a numerous glass blowing businesses during the day and decided to stop here on our way back to our accommodations.

I have to say the store had some very nice pieces of glass artwork in it including glass balls you can add items in (sand and seashells were in some) and they will close the end hole when you are done. In the window looking into the glass blowing area they have all sorts of glass floats hanging with all the colors available. You can customize your float or other purchase with those colors. This was pretty unique to this establishment, but you could customize a glass object at other stores too.

While in the store the clerk/counter person was very informative and helpful. My wife was looking to purchase a glass globe to use as a nightlight, a gift for relatives back home. (We had seen them at other businesses.) The clerk was very helpful in picking out the colors, making suggestions and said there would be no problems with making a globe for a nightlight. We placed our order, gave our cell number in case of problems and were told we could pick the nightlight up in 2 days. (24 hours to make it and additional time to let it cool down so it wouldn't crack.) The artist was not in the store when we placed our order. We were excited about the order and were looking foreward to picking it up on the way to the airport for our return trip in a couple of days.

We were staying in Yachats, Or. and where we were renting a home where there is limited cell service. We did go out and about often (after breakfast we were sightseeing and were within cell communications service quite a bit while visiting the area.). We received NO calls from the Edge Gallery while we were out and about.

On our last full day in Oregon, we stopped by to pick up our nightlight. The clerk said the nightlight had NOT been made as the artist had some questions. There was a note on the order form stating a call had been made to us, but we never returned the call, so no nightlight was made. The artist was at the business, so when she came out we asked about our situation. She had a very defensive attitude and said she had some questions and made a call, but nobody called back, so she didn't make it. We explained we had never received a call and tried to show her our cell phones. She got more defensive and said something like; I don't know about that, but I made the call and nobody called back, so I didn't make the globe."

We were very disappointed and she couldn't even say what the questions were! Her whole attitude was disturbing for an establishment that supposedly takes custom orders all the time. We couldn't figure out what questions she might have had. EVERY glass blowing business makes the same sized globes and most have those you can put things in, like seashells, sand, rocks and nightlights. The openings in those globes are pretty much a standard size in all the stores we visited. Had she made the globe and it wasn't right or we didn't like it or didn't return to pick it up, they could have just added it to the inventory and sold it!

I would NOT recommend ordering anything from this establishment. There are plenty of other businesses with similar pieces of artwork in close proximity to this place with comparitive prices. The ones we visitied that had artists making glassworks seemed happy to see us (and other customers) and were friendly and informative.

IF the artist attempted to call us and we didn't respond, a second call could have been made (or send us a text to say "Please call, we have a question!"- we told them it was a cell phone!). Totally disapointing way to end our visit to the central Oregon coast.

My husband and I signed up for their glass blowing class. Definitely sign up ahead of time. The time slots fill up fast. This became a three day activity but so worth our time. First day- we got to watch other do their project and signed up for our class. Day two- we did the projects. My husband did the glass ornament and I did the stuffed float. Day three - we picked up our wonderful artwork. The staff was great! We are definitely signing up early next time. There is no fee to coming and shop around or watch others. The cost for both projects was $100.

I absolutely love going to Edge and watching the artists create amazing things! They are all so creative and friendly, and willing to answer questions. I was given a gift certificate to blow my own float here and it was one of the coolest things I've ever done!

It was raining cats and dogs with crazy winds so my son and I decided to blow some glass. I made a small float and my son made a glass bowl. We chatted about chemicals and heat combining to change the colors. Blue and red make brown. So we instead combined blue and green for me. My son combined blue, purple and yellow. We laughed and got some great videos. This is definitely a warm and friendly place.
