Where the "Golden Age of Golf" is Honored...

When you play on Glaze Meadow expect to feel like you stepped back in time to the "Golden Age of Golf" when exceptional course design and architecture ushered in a new era. With slightly elevated greens, square tee boxes and deep grass-faced bunkers, the course truly transports you back in time. The newly designed Oregon golf greens are not only meant to play fast and true with significant slope, but please golfers' senses with beautifully integrated pristine landscape. Big Meadow Golf Course stretching more than 7,000 yards, our Big Meadow Course is one of Central Oregon golfers' favorites, garnering a four-star rating from Golf Digest and being recognized as a Top 75 Golf Resort in the US. You won't want to miss the perfect Oregon golf photo opportunity at the 14th hole, which gives a dramatic view of Three Fingered Jack, a jagged volcanic peak.

Yes, the views of snow-capped "Sisters" mountains and the deer enjoying dense, woodsy setting were great! But we were there for a corporate meeting and our meeting planners arranged for us to share rooms in different homes, a weird set-up that left some people isolated because we had carpooled from Portland. The resort should offer golf carts for rent so... More

Recently three of my friends and I met for some golf in central Oregon. Black Butte Ranch has two excellent golf courses and both were under $100 each. We rented a house on property that was well maintained. Even barbecued one night. Food on course was excellent along with service from the entire staff

Came up for the second year for a golf tournament. Great staff, great golf conditions, great weather in September and a beautiful setting. We will be back. Lots of activities for all ages, walking/bike trails on the property.

Never had to yell four! These people know how to manage a golf course. When you pay to play an exceptional golf course, nothing is more frustrating than having to wait on every hole. I love the feeling that we were the only ones out there, even if we weren't. The management here knows how not to sardine everyone onto... More

Weather in July is ,mid 80's , no clouds and low humidity.... Constantly! Golf, Tennis, Pools and bike trails everywhere make for a nice week away. Facilities are very good, very clean and in good condition. Pools can get crowded, so get there before noon. They keep kids 15 and under busy with daily activities, really nice way to do... More

Black Butte Ranch is such a special place. Spend an entire week riding bikes, golfing, swimming and taking a hike! You are surrounded by volcanoes and the smell of pine trees. The condos and homes you rent are top notch and feels like home. I would highly recommended this resort. It's excellent for children with a rec barn and music... More

It took my mom to the annual quilt show in Sisters, OR and was told that the Black Butte Ranch was the best place to stay. Well I have to say it was fabulous. We rented a house for 4 nights. It was huge for 3 people but was well worth it. We had the best time and felt very... More

My wife surprised me on my 60th birthday with a four night stay at BBR... Absolutely the most relaxing trip I have taken in a long time. We road the numerous bike trails, enjoyed the beautiful scenery, played golf and took in the very relaxing atmosphere. All the staff were friendly and professional. Enjoyed a romantic dinner at Roberts Pub.... More

The highlight of our stay was golfing and we wish we had an extra day to play Glaze Meadow. However I give a huge thumbs up to Big Meadow Course is in great shape, fairways are lush like carpet, greens are true. Somewhat open but there are some bunkers to carry over on some fairways to the green Very scenic... More

My husband played the back nine of Big Meadow while I rode along in the cart during our vacation. We got their at 4pm on a weekday and practically had the course to ourselves. We only saw one other group the whole time. The fairways are nearly perfect. The greens are fast yet receptive. The back nine course runs along... More
