History, still in use
Mar 2021
I love covered bridges and this one is still used and in great shape! Easy to pull off the side of the road and check it out on foot; just be careful because it is a frequently used bridge!

Historic Bridge
Jul 2020
This historic bridge is amazing. The history behind this bridge takes you back into another time. The construction of this bridge is truly fantastic. I did enjoy just hanging out and being there, very peaceful.

Go in late summer
Sep 2019
It’s really nice in late summer because there are hop fields so is smells wonderful. Maybe you will get to see some fall colors. The bridge is kept in great condition.

Lovely Drive Through
Mar 2019 • Couples
One of Oregon's surviving covered bridges. It got it's name due to a local moonshine maker in the distant past. Always nice to visit. Prior to 1964 Oregon had over 250 covered bridges. The "Christmas Flood" of 1964 tragically destroyed 3/4ths of them.

There are several covered bridges in Oregon. This one is a MUST DO when you explore Silverton; just a few miles out of town.

Interesting old briThe pre-prohibition bridgedge with some history

While attending the Mt.Angel Oktoberfest, found this relic on way to Silverton. A farmer had corn on the cob & tomatoes on sale by the bridge. Honor system. Put coins in the slot or eat courtesy of the farmer. Bridge is worth a stop. Sign explains the history.

We toured several bridges in the area and the Gallon House was one of them. A very interesting history and the setting was very good too.

Covered Bridge

On our way to Silverton we took the back roads to see the covered bridge. It is worth a visit to drive over it. The history of the area is interesting. The area is nice for a drive along the country roads.

There is a venue very near the bridge where our nephew got married. Beautiful area. Worth the short drive to see and take some pictures.
