Excellent family winery
Jun 2018 • Couples
Be sure to book an appointment to taste their fabulous pinots! We really enjoyed sitting outside having a picnic lunch and chatting with Erica as she juggled the antics of Stew the Rooster, the family dogs and cat (Bob), and her darling daughter showing off her new dress. We came home with several bottles of these great wines, and if you are interested in getting off the beatin' path of the big producers, you should definitely consider a visit to Walter Scott before they run out of their best bottles/vintages later in the year.

Do not miss this winery!
Aug 2017 • Friends
We visited Walter Scott on our 3rd day. This is a fantastic winery run by a couple who are incredibly knowledgeable about the area, history and future of wine in this region. The wines, especially the chardonnays, are fantastic. Do not miss this winery when you visit the willamette valley!! If I could only have visited one winery, it would have been Walter scott.

Must visit up-and-coming winery
Aug 2016
Husband and Wife team have accomplished a lot with so little time. Despite being so busy during the day, they took the time to give us a tour, answer our questions, reschedule our appointment etc. More importantly, the wines are EXCELLENT. Their vineyard focused pinots in the $45 range were in the top tier of value we sampled on our trip. For example, the 2014s are approachable today despite having the same fruit liveliness of other vineyards -- the reason is because the wines are so much more balanced! Their Chardonnay Reserve is fantastic. And we barrel tasted the 2015 Muertos and think that bottle will indeed sell out given our sampling of other premium labels in that price point. Just gracious hosts, great wines, and great prices. A winery to visit, and keep an eye on for the future!

Winemakers to watch.
May 2016 • Friends
Over the past few months on the Willamette Valley wine trail we have been hearing about how good Walter Scott wines are, and how Erika Landon & Ken Pahlow are brilliant wine makers. All true! A young couple that are dedicated and passionate about making the best possible wines and are happy to tell you their story, grape sources, and wine making while you taste their product. Unlike a lot of other WV wineries Chardonnay makes up over 40% Ken & Ericas' production, and what amazing Chardonnays they are. We tasted 3 Chardonnays and 3 Pinot Noirs - all beautifully made wines, but for me the Chardonnays were stand out. In my opinion we were tasting a future Montrachet and I want to be around when there is an old world/new world blind tasting which includes Walter Scott's Chardonnay. A definite must visit when in Oregon.

Yes, We Pick Early.......

Unexpected candor, grass roots, OJT winemaker Ken provided us with in your face unpretentious wine making. The tasting was all barrel tasting with very small and limited production. The wines weren't just good, they were stunning!
Started with $20,000 from cashing in two retirement accounts Ken, Erica and artist Lucy uncovered the secret to happiness and success. The philosophy of not needing to "warehouse" or store wines. Rather, make them, sell them and drink them.
You taste in the barrel/fermentation/storage room over a barrel. Ken seeks out each vintage and thiefs the wine from the barrel straight to your glass.
If you are looking for a small producer, excellent wine, jeans, t-shirt, flip-flops and you are okay with an occasional and passionate f-bomb then you will enjoy this place as much as we did. It was great!

You must check out the artwork from Lucy. It is inspiring.

Amazing and unique experience

We had the special privilege of a private tasting with Erika. Her knowledge and passion for both the science and art of wine making blew us away. Every wine we tried was tremendous, and several of the wines we tasted right from the barrel. Their Chardonnay was the best we have tried. All of the Pinot Noirs were exceptional, so we could no sooner choose a favorite. Such a treat!

Fabulous Wines & Great Family!
Oct 2014 • Friends
We shared a great bottle of Walter Scott Pinot, as recommended by a sommelier at the Allison Inn.
Our party of four found the tiny winery the next day and were treated to a fabulous tour/tasting by Ken, and joined later by Erika. Great people producing with passion, representative of the best of the Willamette Valley. So after visiting many of the upscale tasting rooms....this was our favorite.
Don't miss it..

Fantastic Oregon Winery
Sep 2014 • Couples
Ken and Erika only accept visitors to their tiny winery by appointment. They are there most of the time and unfailingly gracious and welcoming. They make about 1000 cases of Pinot Noir with a tiny quantity of chardonnay. In addition to their Willamette Valley blend, they make a number of vineyard designate wines in minute quantities each year. The basic level wines are not terribly expensive, while the individual vineyard wines run up to $55-$65, (in keeping with wineries in the neighborhood). So, no inexpensive wines , but what great wines!! These wines rarely reach outside of the state and each is a hand polished jewel of a wine that shows just how great Oregon wines can be in the hands of a dedicated, intuitive and talented winemaker. Some cuvees are limited to a single barrel or 75 cases. Wine does not get much more personal or compelling than this. Plan a visit to meet Ken and Erika--you won't be disappointed!
