Huge disappointment. But still a pretty disappointment. Having recently moved to the area, I went hoping to learn some history of the area. I knew the Willamette Mission was established by Methodist missionaries in 1842, and wanted to see the mission. Spoiler alert: there's no...More

We enjoy the Willamette Mission State Park as it’s not far from our home. Nice walking trails. I enjoy the ghost structures of the former mission buildings. There isn’t otherwise as much to do here as at other state parks.

The Willamette River flows alongside this park. Lots of bike trails. The cottonwood trees are especially nice here as are the lupine when it blooms. You can play in the river on hot days.

This is a nice place to picnic. Lots of trees for shade. Every summer they hold a Civil War reenactment. Sometimes even with cannons. Very moving. The park is along the river so fishing or kayaking is fairly easy.

This is a lovely park. It has room for horses, large picnic areas, walks. hikes to river. We like the open dog area where your dogs can run free. It is a beautiful park.

Easy access. Not too big. The hours currently on TA (closing at 5pm) are incorrect...at least during the summer. The largest black cottonwood tree in North America is here and there's a short trail on the east side of the lake to see it up...More

I walked from my home to this park, walked all around on all of the trails and then back home. It was over 20 miles and took me about 7 hours. Some of the trails were wet and slippery, and there were signs about a...More

Slightly off the beaten track, but an easy 1 hour drive from North Portland. There is a $5 fee - we have a year park pass which I recommend if you use Oregon State Parks - Champoeg, Silver Falls etc. We went on the 4th...More
