The food is bad to so-so (it used to be decent) and it's expensive for what it is, and there aren't any healthy options.

But there aren't that many places you can go watch a first run movie while eating and drinking, so this place still rates a visit, especially if you just want drinks and snacks - and tickets are cheaper on Tuesday nights.

I've been to this theater many times, and though I love being able to get a meal as I watch a movie, I don't love the food options here. The food isn't terrible, just very limited healthy options. I have gotten the chicken sandwich and the veggie burger. The veggie burger fell apart, and the chicken sandwich was decent, but I'd rather have other options than fries to go with it. I do love the popcorn, no butter. There's something very good about the oil they pop it in, and you get a large bowl of it. They only carry beer, wine, and cider, so beware that even the mixed drinks are made with wine instead of liquor. I still like the theater itself, and I would recommend it, but eat before you go if you can.

My hubby and I enjoy going on Tuesday nights for the $5 movie deal. All movies on Tuesdays are $5. The seating is plentiful.

We have tried the food once or twice but did not find it to be up to par for what they charge for it. Plus the service can be rather slow and dragging. Sometimes we would get our food, cold. It took us over an hour to get a water refill. The popcorn is wayyyy too salty.

We've since just stuck to the desserts, but even then the prices are still a bit high for what one gets. Last time I had the "home made cookies" dessert. The cookies were definitely not home made, and slightly burnt. They served the ice cream in a cup and not on the cookies. The milkshakes are in a very small cup. For $6, they should give you the whole shake, not just the cup.

I do like their 80s video games and pool tables, and big comfy sofas and chairs. ☺

NOTE: There's free parking right across the street in the parking garage for the Salem Center. If you park on the bottom level nearest the corner to KOHLS & Cinnebarre, you're walk is quick. 1-3 minutes tops. Make sure you go to the crosswalk and walk when the light turns green and the white man appears. The cops do keep an eye on the intersection and WILL ticket jaywalkers that do not follow this rule.

The location for this theater is perfect. The concept is awesome. The execution....not so good.
This theater is located in downtown Salem, Oregon. Literally a mile from my home. Yet I will go miles further to get to a better theater.
This place has a nice big bar in the middle of the lobby. Being a beer lover I enjoy that part - you can walk up, sit at the counter, and get a beer. Or take one into the theater itself. They have long thin tabled in front of seating in the movie itself - tons of leg room! Nice seats though they don't recline like some newer places do where the legs come out etc. But still nice. Everything would be fabulous, even the slightly higher than already outrageous food and drink prices of theaters. BUT...you have to wait on a waiter. And they are NOT fast. You can get a bottomless bowl of popcorn for $10 but they wont serve you until the movie is already started...also interrupting the movie for you and others. Ordering a second bowl just plain takes too long. And the wait staff are coming in and out all through the movie. You are not allowed to go out to the bar and order food or drink. And the wait staff expect a tip on top of the high prices. It just doesn't work. They really need a different system. I'm headed out tonight, as we do almost every weekend, but not to cinebarre :(

What an exciting concept. This place could be fabulous but it is so run down its gross.
from the moment you walk in the door it smells like stale urine. The restrooms were disgusting. The theater and tables were....sticky and smelled like....urine. The waitress went to hand me the menu and literally had to peel it off the table. I ordered popcorn ($7) and it came in a big beat up metal bowl.
I was distracted from the movie by the horrible smell.
At least the employees were nice.

Why does the entire lobby and theaters smell like dirty cleaning water! Food and drinks are over priced and marginal quality. Bathrooms are upstairs and about 3 zip codes away from the theaters, have to miss half the movie to and back from restroom. Northern lights does it better, even tho the movies are not first run.

I had enjoyed the movie experience here. Like the beverage choices, lots of leg room. However, lately we have been very unhappy and I am not returning. The service is unfriendly, slow, and inattentive - that is until they want their check. I ordered food and they took it away before I was done (swooped in so quickly I couldn't call them back). The popcorn is $8.00 for a shallow, medium sized bowl and it wasn't nearly "topped off". When I asked for more, they said, "That is the portion." Really?...the profit margin for POPCORN doesn't allow for a decent "portion"? I don't like the food and beverages come at different times...especially when the beverage comes long after the popcorn (THIRSTY). I'll be doing my movie going elsewhere.

I usually go on Tuesday when all movies are only $5 dollars. Some people complain about the prices but for the freedom to have beer and enjoy food, it has it's perks and quirks. I recommend to anyone if they have kids to head to the morning shows where they show all sorts of shows for the summer that are kid friendly.

I've watched movies and eaten dinner here several times, and it's one of my favorite places to go. The food that I've had is very good. Great sandwiches and fries. The beer selection is excellent. Lots of room to stretch and and enjoy the movie. I watched Life of Pi in 3D and I can't imagine a better venue to watch a move. All of the employees are helpful and friendly. Lots of movie choices-seven theaters! Restrooms are very clean.
