The tour of the House & Senate was so educational. The volunteer who headed the tour was so knowledgeable. I especially enjoyed the trip up the steps, for a beautiful view of the city. I highly recommend it.

If you have an interest in history, especially Oregon, please visit this xite. We are from Ohio, but history buffs and found this extremely interesting. DO go up to the Capital Rotunda to view the landscape of Salem.

The state capital is a very beautiful building. The employees at the capital were very helpful guiding us to where we needed to go. The cafeteria was very nicely provisioned. The restrooms were nice and very accessible.

I enjoy visiting state capitals when we travel. This one seemed very stark and institutional looking.

There is metered parking on the north, south and west sides of the capitol. It's a little hard to find when legislators at in session.

The rest room on the main floor is open when the building is open. Generally it's closed on the weekends. The closest otherwise is McDonalds.
