Streetcars, buses, bikes, and pedestrians only. Vistas of downtown and Mount Hood (if and when the weather permits!). Easy walk to and fro. Oregon Museum of Science and the USS Blueback submarine very close by on the far (east side) of the bridge.

This is a decent bridge to walk across. Go on the other side and there’s some little shops at the base of it.
It’s a quick jaunt across, but everyone’s doing it. It’s a frequented bridge, for pedestrians. It’s mostly to get to the other side, there’s not much to see on the bridge, except for the generic landscape scenery along the way

A great pedestrian and biker friendly bridge. We enjoyed the night views of it and downtown Portland but parking was limited nearby.

If you are looking for a casual walk across the Willamette River, this is one way to go. It is safe for pedestrians and provides a nice view of the both sides of the river. We wanted a longer walk but not one that was strenuous for our Sunday stroll. We parked on the east side (near OMSI). We walked across the Tillicum bridge and then through Waterfront Park to Saturday Market. We then walked across the Burnside bridge and onto a walking path on the east bank to get back to our car. It was a pleasant journey.

Only public transport allowed in the middle, and separated outer lanes dedicated to pedestrians and bikes. Easy moderate slope access. Beautiful architecture.
Need more of these in all cities split by a river.

There are usually one or two available parking spots on the west side of the bridge, tucked just to the south of the classical radio station building. Be careful tho', cause the street parking is patrolled by the meter persons and anything off street will get your car towed.

Love how the city spent money to encourage walking, riding & public transportation. Nice river views and proximity to downtown. Since I’m not from the area not sure what’s on the East side as most of the area is industrial. Maybe if I knew the transit system & neighborhood better it would be even better. Worth the effort to take advantage of the views & exercise.

Very cool bridge that is pedestrian (and public transit only). You can run, walk, or bike and you get a great view of the city. Awesome bridge!

Wow, this was a little tough on the uphill portion but the view is outstanding. We rented the Nike bikes and felt very safe to ride around the river and partial city streets.

How long would it take for an adult to walk from the OMSI parking lot, across the Tilikum Crossing bridge to the Portland Aerial Tram terminal?

Where is the best place to take pictures of this bridge at night, so that I get the entire thing in view?
Written November 2, 2018
I’d suggest doing a daytime walk about to get your bearings then return at night...possibly from the OMSI (East side). Good luck!
Written November 3, 2018
There is street parking with meters to in the new neighborhoods by the waterfront (look for were the Arial Tram comes down and were all the new condo buildings are.) I believe it is $2 an hour and they take credit cards. You can also park at OMSI (again paid) or along Water Street near the Hawthorne Bridge (free but make sure you don't leave valuables in the car.) OMSI is probably the closest if you don't want to walk too far.

How can Tilkum Crossing be used to get to Omsi?
Written February 1, 2017
Yes, it is right next to OMSI so you can walk across it from the west side to the east side. You can also get to OMSI using the Portland Street Car, there is a stop nearby OMSI.

Sort of, but not really close.
