Jamison Square is a park in the Pearl district, easily accessible by streetcar or walking. It has a great splash area perfect for cooling off on hot days (read: free entertainment for little ones). The water area is build to resemble a tidal pool, and the water flows out of large concrete slabs, drains, and then repeats every 10 minutes. The water is chlorinated and the park area is very clean. Tons of families use the pool area and it is open from 9 to 6 pm daily. There is a city worker on site who puts out chairs for families to sit in and monitors the area. Around the square are a number of restaurants and coffee shops. We were staying in Portland for two days and this was a great way to beat the heat!

Interactive water fountain for splashable fun for kids. There is not much more to the park. It is flanked by "modern totem poles" per it's description - I would defer to Native American tribes on if that is an accurate description, but I can say there were not as interesting as expected nor aligned with what I think of when I think of a totem pole - the looked more like abstract / cubism art.

We wandered around the Pearl w/ the goal of checking out the Square when we discovered the place we reserved for dinner was across from the park. We could watch people playing by/in the fountain and just enjoying the space. After dinner we waked around the area. Worth a walk to

I started my stroll in Pearl district from this small and nice park. It is really so nice and relaxing with its emulated tide from the fountain coming out of the rocks. People hangs out there, kids play with water and enjoy water spalsh. It is open from 9AM to 6PM. It is accessible by streetcar and by walking for sure. I really enjoyed watching families having such a good time there. This place is truely creative one and I do like it so much.

The main attraction in this small park is the fountain that emulates the tide schedule of the area. Visit at high tide and the rock fountain will be in full swing and a great place for kids to cool off. Ingenious way to add a water feature but in a natural form. Portland creativity at its best!

We strolled through this place when it was 100 degrees. Dozens of kids and adults were cooling off in the cascading water fountains. People were playing bocce ball under the trees. Others were just hanging out on the shaded green grass . Definitely a nice place for families and friends to hang out in the summer. Surrounding area of residences and shops was also very nice.

Dry now but during the summer filled with water. It is an interesting design and a cooling cascade made to delight in in the summer. The rocks are constructed from huge pillow like blocks of cement arranged in rows. Also connected to a pleasant grass filled strip of park. The parking isn't bad because there are few restaurants in the area. Again how long you stay depends on how tired you are or if you're in elementary school.

This is a nice spot to hang out in the spring and summer months, lots of grass area and benches. During the rainy days - not nice unless you like the rain. Great during Christmas time with a huge tree in the middle of the square. There are great coffee shops, restaurants within one block. The street car stops at the square, there is bike rental station directly across the street. If you going through the Pearl, check it out.
