Review of: Oregon Coast Tour from Portland
This was my first of two tours with Wildwood, and if I had stayed longer I would have done at least one more - they were that good. My guide in both cases (see my tour of Columbia Gorge and Mount Hood) was Evan, who was outstanding. I learned so much about the geological history of the area, the different types of trees and other flora that we saw, and the role of salmon in local economic history. We had very well-spaced rest and stretch stops, and longer stops for photography and lunch. The van was very comfortable, everyone was masked, and Evan is an excellent driver. He spoke with each of us, and offered to take photos for us all against amazing backdrops. At one stop he took a few of us on an extra hike through a cool gnarly forest down to a secluded beach. I couldn't have been happier with this tour.…

Seeing Mount Hood was a bucket list item for me, and we had an absolutely clear blue sky on the day. The guide, Evan, was terrific - very knowledgeable, flexible, passionate, and did not repeat himself from the tour I did with him two days earlier (see my review of Oregon Coast tour). We managed to sneak in an extra waterfall, even though we had ample time at each place we stopped. Evan made a point to interact with everyone, offered to take photos, and took anyone who wanted to go on an extra hike to find the snowline when we stopped at Timberline Lodge. The minivan was very comfortable and Evan was a confident driver. Everyone was masked, no complaining. This day was a highlight of my three weeks in the West.…

Chuck was our tour guide and he was both knowledgeable and entertaining, as well as level headed. This tour is a great value for the cost. And the sights were really GORGEous :) The info on the website and confirmation email about the “snacks and refreshments” being offered is incorrect due to COVID, FYI. Bottled water is available. Also, this tour packs A LOT of stops in a small amount of time so one might feel rushed at times. In fact, the tour would still be quite enjoyable if Wildwood removed one of the more minor stops. Again though, a good value for the money.…

Fortunately, the weather was perfect. The views were amazing. The best part was having a friendly, professional, and well versed tour guide, Chuck. Highly recommend the tour and request Chuck when visiting Portland.
