Yesterday our family of four (2 adults and 2 tweens) took the Gorge Waterfalls/Mount Hoop Loop tour. Highlights were...in-your-face, jaw-dropping waterfalls, inspiring Mount Hood views and watching salmon swim up the river. Underrated is Jeff's command of the road, photo spots and his use of spotting scopes to spy on a herd of elk! During the ride, Jeff is extremely... More

I really enjoyed the trip. It was not only scenic and enjoyable, it was very informative on ecology, geology, meteorology, botany and history. What really impressed me was the way the tour operator worked and communicated with me before the tour to make sure we could meet up with the group.

We're two retired couples in our sixties. None of us could think of any way the tour could have been better. The 12 passenger van was comfortable for us as was the pace of the tour. All of the stops were scenic and interesting with ample opportunity to walk about and use rest rooms. We found the easy-to-hear narrative to... More

To my fellow travelers: First, forgive the length of this review. This was an unconditional "five star" experience, and deserves the emphasis that it gets here. Please be aware that there are some “spoilers” that appear eventually in this extensive review, starting right after the first several paragraphs. At most, however contrary it sounds, my advice is at most to... More

Geoff is a great tour leader and the groups are small enough to enable flexibility depending on weather or other conditions dynamically. It's obvious that the leader cares that his party gets the best experience possible. The journey is an education, with all the volcanic processes being explained and illustrated with the help of photos and diagrams being passed round,... More

We took both the Columbia Gorge and Mt Hood Loop tour and the Northern Oregon Coast tour with Jeff of EcoTours as our guide. We were visiting Portland and rather than rent a car we decided to book tours for things we wanted to see outside of the city. I am so glad we took this approach. Jeff's fountain of... More

My 9 year old & 14 year old children and I were able to check "Visiting Mt St Helens" off of our Bucket List. I have been fascinated by Mt. St Helens since I was a child growing up on the east coast in 1980. Jeff from Eco Tours provided an educational and interesting trip. My 2 kids weren't into... More

What a great experience. Our tour of the Columbia Gorge and Mt. Hood was interesting, especially the natural beauty of the waterfalls and seeing salmon in the fish ladders. But what made the tour spectacular was the learning component provided by the driver, Jeff, who explained how this area got to be the way it was, from dams provided by... More

We did the Mt Hood and Columbia Gorge day tour. Overall great experience if you don't feel like driving, doing research on where to go etc. Jeff was a fount of information and knowledge about the area's history, geology and it's inhabitants. We learned about the Chinooks and other natives, the salmon and the various conflicts between the extractors (miners,... More

Jeff, the guide, gave so much information on the trip and was really interesting. Transport is in minibus so no more than a dozen people with pick up from hotel. Scenery absolutely fantastic at waterfalls and on Mount Hood. Also fascinating at the salmon farm and dam. Full day well worth the money.
