I was diagnosed with Kidney Cancer in 2018. Dr. Jen Jane Liu removed half of one kidney arthoscopically. I have had no problems since then, and they do regular checkups just to be sure. I credit Dr. Liu with saving my life; thanks Doc!!!

I was surprised, one day fine the next bleeding, planning to go away in 4 days. After three visits to the lavatory I figured 911, whilst at local Hospital specialist there tried to treat me, but OHSU had more sophisticated equipment and Doctors. I survived having had many replacement blood and platelets . Thank you OHSU.the staff on the ICU and the ward floor were most friendly and look after me like I was in a Hotel.

Unbelievable! OHSU refused to see me (orthopedic unit), for my hand because I admitted that I smoke cigarettes. Point blank I asked if they were refusing medical treatment because I smoked and the woman answered, "YES". I am still shocked and in absolute disbelief that a doctor is refusing treatment to a patient in need because I smoke. They require 4 weeks of no smoking and test you for nicotine before they will treat anyone.

Had to be here for a short RX visit. Walked the complex and had great views of downtown PDX. Visited the main cafeteria in the main campus building. Not very cheap, but the cooked-to-order was good.

The OHSU facilities are really worthy of praises both for the students and the many patients who go there for research and to assist their personal doctors in resolving problems.
We visited them for tests on a person who has been very ill over the past four years. OHSU plays a major role in Oregon where their specialists offer services to many rural and regional doctors in order to help their patients.
About the only negative I can think of - and it quickly comes to mind - is how difficult it is for people like me who is not used to navigating the rats-nest of streets and freeways in order to find their way to the various OHSU buildings. it is a mess, and the drivers from Portland do not have patience for patients that get in the way while the native is heading to/from work. I guess the answer is to get a cab.
But the staff at OHSU and the wonderful research they do makes going there for help a very good choice.

The tram is fun to ride and on a clear day you can see Mt. Hood, Mt. St. Helens, and the USS Blueback. A must see for those who are visiting the area.

At the top of the tram, finds a complex of hospitals and this university. Open to the public for exploring. Many walls have pictures and information discussing the history and activities on this huge campus. Don't forget to walk the skybridge.
